Oh, heck yeah.

But this is the Novel Publishing thread. If you want to make a Manga Publishing thread, though, I'm cool with that. ^^

Well, if NISA ever does go the LN route, I'd definitely be interested in having them publish books in the smaller bunkobon format, like Seven Seas did for their light novel imprint.

Not sure how hard it would be to acquire licenses and how they're related to companies that have rights to the manga/animes, but there's definitely stuff out there that could cater to a Western audience, like Kokoro Connect, Sword Art Online or even Toradora.

If NISA ever gets a novel publishing division going, and if there's sufficient interest, it's entirely possible that it might happen. For now, why don't we try and figure out what could actually get the ball rolling successfully?

As in ... what series would work, or how we can show that there's enough interest to warrant the resources it would take?

For the former, like I said, Toradora might be a good start. There's an established fanbase for it around here already since NISA released the anime in the west, but I have no idea how the licensing would work. Seven Seas has rights to the manga, and as far as we know, they've ceased publication of LNs, so I doubt they have rights to the novels. Only thing with Toradora is that it's a full 10 novels to be released. I don't think of NISA as a company to stop halfway through something, so maybe 10 is too much for a first attempt.

I'd love to see NISA publish the Disgaea & Tordadora novels. Also, I'm guessing the person complaining about them probably read FAN-TRANSLATIONS. You do know those arn't always accurate.

Also, you disgrace that Jack Skellington Avatar you have, the pumpkin king would never act in such a tactless manner!

I second the Disgaea LNs needing to come over. I like how it fleshes out the characters, we get to find out more about Laharl and his relatives. Plus Laharl with a full fledge harem, including a believe the kid of the dorky space hero and the blonde chick, nice!

I dont know how licensing would work, but others Id like to see include Infinite Stratos, High School DxD, Campione, and a slew of others.

There's a lot of Light Novels that'd be good to see, but I think starting small would be a good option. Go for some of the more popular stuff and try to build up a real fanbase.
