^^;

If they can't find anything worth even the slightest bit of credit in the game, well... that alone tells me I probably can't trust such a review. Not worth my time.

Actually he did.

" Perhaps the only redeeming quality of Time and Eternity is the hand drawn characters. The characters themselves are well done artistically speaking"

A "redeeming quality" implies something good about a game. A score of 0% implies that absolutely nothing is good. No sense is being made here. *Blinks* With such a major failure in logic, again, 'tis a review that isn't worth my time.

Let the hate flow through you.

I'd tend to agree that it's a throwaway review.

That site is using a letter based grading system, and not a number % so it makes sense that it got a F even if there was one thing that was considered redeeming quality.

The reviewers eyes and brain must have gone bad theres plenty to credit the game for.

Reviewers care about different things than people who actually play games.

So what are theses different things that reviewers care about?

Yup, that's pretty obvious he didn't spend much time playing the game, probably not beyond the first couple of fights. ;)

p.s.: Sometimes I wonder if those reviewers even look at the game's menu to see that there are things such as items, a skill system, a magic spell system and so on.

I learned a while ago that RPG Fan writers have...standards on what an RPG should be like. Why else would they give the first Higurashi novel a bad review? RPG Fan is only reliable now when it comes to looking up reviews for Western RPGs since those games tend to have what they look for.

Anyway, this feels like looking for Neptunia series game reviews all over again. Hell, BRS: The Game and Tokitowa's gamestyle look so similar that I would not be surprised to see that BRS also got critically bashed. I would be shocked if it didn't.

A good story can't save a game with many out dated aspects. The character models are ummm awkward, and just not well done. Sound isn't anything amazing compared to what Umineko has. The only interaction that readers have with this game is advancing the text. The translation wasn't that good.

Black Rock Shooter received a 68/100 on Meta, and 67/100 on RPGfan.

I disagree. I generally find that RPGFan is quite reliable. Now if you were talking about IGN or Gamespot maybe I could see your point but RPGFan is generally much more fair and honest. If they say a game is crap 9 times out of 10 it is crap.

Regardless of positive or negative reviews a game gets, in the end, it all depends on whether I want to play the game or not. Tokitowa is one of those games I've wanted to play since it was announced in Japan last year.

For example, as beloved as Triple A Western RPGs like the Mass Effect series and Skyrim were by reviewers, I had no interest in playing either. The ONLY reason I picked Skyrim up was because it had the option of lesbian marriage. That's it.

Point is, regardless of how badly a game gets bashed or praised, it all personally depends on whether I want to play the game or not. I want to play Tokitowa and whether I feel like my $50 bucks was well spent or not is up to me because I paid for the damn thing.
