Deciding 2nd evility for Baal Solo Run

Postby fuyuki » Tue Mar 31, 2015 10:23 pm

Planning a Baal solo run, here's what I have so far
Using Fuuka for this, for her Dream Girl evility
In the process of maxing WM and Skill levels, LoC & basic stats maxed
My choices are
Water God's Ability ( possibly walling Baal till i reach the +240% cap )
Absorption ( +100m per stat after each Baal seems like it'll work in the later phases )

Was also thinking of using Ash with Patience evility, but I'm not sure if it adds to the Water God's Ability.

I'm open to any suggestions, as well.

Im not sure how he worked in DD2, but isnt Trickmove most of the time the best part? Otherwise you can go for hardcore stuff with unique innocents. Other evilitys would be Mist Cloak or Elemental Oath and stuff, everything that reduces either magic or physical damage.
It still depends if you are at max stats and/or max HP. Once you reach a certain point you are stronger than Baal anyway. Depends on the difficulty level you want to tackle to.

Otherwise you would have to help me out with his abilities. I remember he has like 4 forms and stuff.

Dream Girl is overpowered as hell anyway :P. -50% special damage is insane as nobody uses normal attacks at that stage.

Absorption is a thing, if you are at Stat cap off 999 million then it wont increase anymore obviously. Then its all about xx% reductions.

Depending on your Damage you could even go for Dual magiechange or mounting and stuff.

Otherwise I would try Trickmove first if you survive the first hit and can heal yourself. 100% dodge is insane even if he might have higher stats.

On top of that take a look at unique innocents you grab from mystic innocents (random, pool of 77 innocents).

Maybe that helped you, will take a look again later =).

Sadly, Trick Move won't work on him as he has a Broken Cellphone ( 100% chance to hit target ).

I don't think mounting will help much other than for the monster to take damage for the human, even if there is an SS level skill available when mounted.

Anyways, his secondary evility changes per form like so
1. Deals magic damage to character each time he/she/it comes out from the base panel
2. Afflicts all enemies with all status ailments at the end of each turn
3. 50% dodge chance
4. Spawns 2 Baal Slaves for him at the end of each turn
5. Deals damage to all enemies at the end of each turn ( not sure if physical or magic tho )
6. Destroys basepanel and heals 20% HP/SP at the end of the turn

Also, I gave up on a solo run cos i was lazy to grind to deal against forme 2's evility, so I had a 5 man team for Baal.

If you are doing a solo or mostly solo run, than Absorption is generally the better option (unless your stats are already near the cap anyways), but if you are using multiple characters to fight, only one should have it, and that character should get most of the kills. The reason for this is the way Rasetsu mode handles stats; higher stats have a dramatic impact on incoming and outgoing damage, well beyond just the simple numeric difference.
If you haven't done so already, consider making a few level one Fortitude Warriors with Garungun's Fabricated Reality Evility and a bunch of shoes and orbs, armed with buffs, espoirs, and heals (to top off their own hp on the first turn or if something odd happens). It effectively makes them unkillable throwers/buffers/combo builders in the first, third, and fifth phases (to build combos with them, just have them use espoir on Baal before your main attacker, otherwise he might counter them). They won't be able to hurt Baal, but their throwing arms and buffs don't need stats and they take a fraction of the time to make as compared to a baal-worthy character.
For the second phase, all you need is one of these warriors with sleep and amnesia resistance to cast espoir on himself, your main, and another warrior, and the other to heal himself and the other warrior back to full after being espoired (the poison damage should occur after Fabricated Reality recovers them).
Make sure to have a broken Cellphone for phase 3 and a Cosplay Cat Ears and lolipop for your main during phase 4. These goodies can also be a huge help in any other phase as well.
Also, consider putting fortitude on Marona (if you have her) and using her to bring back someone important if something goes horribly wrong.
Sorry if this was a bit too much information  And good luck bringing down Baal!
I'm too damn lazy to put anything clever here.
