It seems this game keeps the vulgarity of the original!...

Postby blizdi » Sat Aug 23, 2014 7:19 am

And I couldn't be happier!
The first game tried to clean up the script, leaving some small curse words.

This game seems to have kept all the curse words in.

I am so happy this game's dub seems to try to make the students seem... ya know... HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS!

ie.

Kuzuryu:
"...don't be a pussy..."
"...fucking..."
"...friendly and shit..."

Teruteru:
"... dish that seems "yummy" would still be considered shit."
"...taste this shitty..."

All the random expletives tossed around in the first game generally made me laugh, so I have high hopes for this one.

It was really the only reason I liked Mondo at all. Sakura gets a special mention for randomly using "Bastard!" in any context.

We didn't really...clean up any expletives? I mean Japanese has extremely few "expletives" anyway and we didn't shy away from using them when it made sense for the characters and situations.

Regardless, the second definitely kicks it up like twelve notches, so I'm glad you're enjoying it!

I'm looking forward to giggling like a 9 year old while playing this game.

I love how vulgar Fuyuhiko is. I think he is more vulgar than the Japanese translations. Which pleases me

You must be new. NISA has been known to throw extra cuss words in just for fun since their early days.

I've often said it's probably one of the main reasons NIS games are typically rated higher here than they were in Japan.

Well... that and cultural differences.
