I shall import!

Also, if Gust was gonna do anything with the Arland series, they should have made an Astrid Arland prequel!

Hopefully there's new characters or something ala Judie/Violet PSP.

And even though Tecmo Koei acquired Gust, it's Gust all over again. New Atelier for the PS3, old Atelier for the portables.

The Vita is now my main system, and I've still never finished Totori. I'd buy this for sure if it was released here.

Gust's existing business plan has been hugely successful for them; I'm not surprised that they aren't deviating from it much even post-purchase. Hell, their success is probably why T-K wanted to acquire them.

Anyway, I am a little surprised that Totori gets this treatment first. I had more money on them going back to Rorona and giving it a fresher coat of paint with everything their art team has learned since then. Totori is quite good, though, so no surprises there.

I also wouldn't be surprised if Sony actually asked them to make it - something, anything, to help fill out the Vita library a little.

Oh, and for those asking: it's Meruru that was the most commercially and critically successful of the recent crop of titles in Japan.

Because Rorona looks like a PS2 game and getting Totori to run on Vita well is a little more impressive.

Why not jump straight for Meruru, if that was the case?

That was kind of my point, though; the existing Rorona looks pretty awful, but the Gust art team has a hell of a lot more experience now. I'm a bit surprised they don't want to go back and do Rorona "right" and update the art.

That would probably end up being a little more effort than they want to put into a port, though, especially since Atelier's traditionally performed poorly on handhelds.

Because Totori was better than Meruru, silly.

Now now, let's not start talking about personal tastes here. I'd think that Gust's foray into the Visual Novel segment didn't pay off, and now they're getting back to the good and old Atelier series to keep their money incoming.

As much as it physically pains me to do so, I have to agree with Zeke here. I love NISA and Gust, and I love supporting them by buying their games. But no way am I gonna buy an Atelier Totori port when the ps3 game came out last year.
Disgaea 3? That was fine, the ps3 game was 4 years ago, and the port included all the DLC from the original version.
