End Day Total: $4,163,208.

Project Eternity is an isometric, party-based RPG set in a new fantasy world developed by Obsidian Entertainment.

It will take the “central hero, memorable companions, and the epic exploration” of Baldur’s Gate, the “fun, intense combat and dungeon diving” of Icewind Dale, and the “emotional writing and mature thematic exploration” of Planescape: Torment, and tie it all into one project.

Obsidian Entertainment has launched Project Eternity on Kickstarter. Some of the minds behind Fallout 2, New Vegas, Planescape: Torment, Icewind Dale are working on the project, planning to bring back the old school RPG feel back into modern gaming. Though Project Eternity has already met its goal, we still have several goals to reach for the sake of making the game bigger, better, and more fun for the players.

As of October 16, 2012, the crowd-funding of Project Eternity on Kickstarter has ended.
Pledges are still open to the public on Project Eternity's site through Paypal.

Project Eternity has earned 3,986,929 dollars through Kickstarter, and approximately $176,279 through paypal, making it an approximate total of $4,163,208 for Project Eternity's development.

Obsidian is an amazing company and Chris Avellone has always been my hero.

I hope this is a true old-school CRPG like the days of old.

2.2 mil would be nice. WiNE is not nearly the solution needed to play games...

You're really vocal, and have some valid points, so yeah...bluntness is much better than well, nothing

Hopefully, it bares some fruit, I'll keep an eye on it

I so hope they get lots of money for this game. If I had the money to throw 10,000 I gladly would Obsidian is one of my favorite developers out there. But sadly lots of people disagree with that. I am happy they made their goal in just over two days. I would really enjoy seeing Obsidian make 3 million on this game. The world needs more RPGs in these kinds of style.

I went with the 65 tier.
I always go for the physical copy tier reward when I want to contribute to something like this.

the video wasn't entirely helpful in determining the gameplay and neither was the info page, I'm interested looking at what these guys have worked on before but I can't say I know what I'm paying for.
I've only played fallout new vegas but I've been meaning to try out fallout 1&2 along with baldur's gate.
I know if I do get this it'll be the 65 tier though

Project Eternity has reached its 1.6 million goal. Now a Mac version is planned for development, and the overall planned content has grown.

Actually, I should clarify: fond as I am of what Obsidian was as Black Isle.

Black Isle was no better than Obsidian. It was chaos before Fallout and chaos after Icewind Dale - which means only three years of smooth sailing (relatively speaking....while they turned out well, Fallout 2 and Planescape Torment went through shaky development cycles marked by high profile staff departures) and six years of struggle.

Even then, I suspect those three years were mainly possible because of

a) a passionate push to finish Fallout (previously vaporware) by Tim Cain, Leonard Boyarsky, etc.
b) BioWare's work and support on the Infinity Engine, which powered Torment and IWD

Obsidian is just like Black Isle, albeit with the added complexity of modern game development and independent ownership. Once again, they have loads of design talent but struggle with technology (poor bug and progress tracking, difficulty working with game engines) and project focus (difficulty agreeing on a direction to stick to).

The technical issues are because they are pushed around by publishers who have ridiculous deadlines for sequels.

Project Eternity's crowd-funding on Kickstarter has ended.
With a grand total of 4127028 dollars, Project Eternity has become the most funded video game in Kickstarter, ranking second in the Game Category, next to the Ouya.

Meeting all of it's stretch goals, we are to see;
Expanded Content
11 classes
6 races
8 companions
A huge mega dungeon of 13-14 levels.
Player house
Crafting & Enchanting
Adventurer's Hall
A stronghold
Two big cities
George Ziet's cooperation in the game.

The additional funds after the 2nd large City stretch goal is to be used for the purpose of enhancing the game.
