I'd call it a Mega Man rip off if I wasn't aware that ol' Megs was getting left at the bottom of Capcom's recycle bin and this was the only way to get a new game out for the poor sod.

I'm not sure the person who invented the character can make a "ripoff" game in the first place lol. It's his character, he just can't use the copyright version so he's making that type of game with a different trademark I guess.

I love how much of a middle finger this thing is to Capcom. That video is loaded up with more Mega Man references than I can count. (And the beginning and ending are direct references to the beginning and end of Mega Man 2, specifically.) And the designs are clearly based on old MM designs. I've seen blatant copies of Roll, Rush, Dr. Doppler, and MMBN Wily, as well as a few boss designs that loo like old robot masters.

Godspeed, Keiji Inafune. Godspeed.
I never got my avatars.
Still holding my breath for the other Marl Kingdom games.

I do hope that this is really successful in the end. This will allow kenji and co. to create something freely without Capcom being on their asses.

I've never seriously played a Mega Man game *flame shields up*, but the art style of this game looks outstanding. Platformers really aren't my thing, but I think I'd enjoy this.

But I don't really understand why anyone would think that a kickstarter is needed for a game that is VERY Mega Man-like, created by the "father of Mega Man."

Then again, I guess comcept hasn't ever really developed a game on their own yet. They've only assisted in other developer's projects AFAIK.

Looks promising. I hope this will finally appease those of us who've been waiting for a real MM game for years.

Any time is good to get into the Mega Man universe and play the games. No rush. Each series is good in their own way. Also, since Comcept is pretty small and what they're planning on doing is going to be big, a kickstarter is an alright idea in my book.

Because money doesn't appear out of nowhere unless you're the bank; people making the game still need to buy food and pay rent while they're in the development process, and taking out loans is usually much worse (if things go wrong) than having the funds available beforehand.

Fans who backed up this project in two days are obviously frustrated Mega Man fans. I have nothing against them anymore. The poor boys have suffered long enough. Congrats guys.
