It's a Falcom game, I'm sure I'll love it if it's localized.

I'm hoping XSEED won't get its hands on it.

I can't imagine they won't, if it's anyone.

Why is that? If it comes over, it's almost certain to be from them.

Sounds pretty interesting! I definitely will keep my eye on this one.

I don't want to go too much OT, but basically they favor Steam and digital-only distribution. Hence I won't support their efforts ever again. And sadly Falcom has them as preferred partners.

They favor Steam for their PC releases, which makes sense seeing as Steam, at least as far as I know, has the largest share of the PC market right now. As for DD-only, that's not really true aside from their Steam releases; from what I can tell, they tend to only go that route if they're unsure that a game will sell that well.

They're not "preferred," they're actual partners. From what I hear, that was the only way they could afford the license for Trails in the Sky.

Most Falcom games are text-heavy and they aren't chart-toppers here in the states, so it's only logical that Xseed would release their games in the most cost-effective and lucrative manner.

Plus, if anything, most of XSEED's releases are portable...so...dunno what xizro is talking about.

Falcom games aren't really that text-heavy most of the time. Most of the Ys games, at least, are rather short, with I think any game before Celceta, maybe Seven, able to be cleared in less than 20 hours. I'm pretty sure even the trilogy of Legend of Heroes games before the Kiseki series weren't quite as big as the Kiseki games are.

Again, I don't want to go OT too much, but I strongly dislike Steam. The only DD system that I consider acceptable is GoG.
In any case, even for console releases, they tend to prefer DD. I actually argued quite a bit with them when they announced their reasoning and decisions.
I'm lucky that I can skip their releases and get the Japanese physical version if it interests me, but most players can't do that.

I wasn't a fan of Xanadu to begin with, but at least Falcom started doing something else than using the Legend of Heroes brand...

"Falcom" will always make me interested in a game, so looking forward to hearing more about this (+ platforms - Vita please!)

Xseed registered a Xanadu Next domain. I'd be surprised if it wasn't in reference to this game.
