So apparently Sony quietly removed the 4 gb memory card from the Assasin's Creed bundle, according to this-cached version that has the 4gb listed. Current one doesn't.

That's kind of shitty, but Vita owners are going to want a lot more than 4GB anyway. I have the 8GB that came with my 3G model and even that isn't nearly enough.

8gb is more than enough if you buy all your game physically.

A handful of PSP and Vita games. I don't even have any music or videos on it, not enough space.

I can't see how running out of space is... somehow convenient for you.

Because deleting something to make room for something else is still a lot more convenient than having to run to the store to buy the game and then having to swap game cards every time I want to play a different game.

And I only have to worry about it until I get around to buying a bigger memory card. So not only is it only a minor annoyance, it's also temporary.

I am going physical on Ragnarok Odyssey, and Persona 4, to save room and for the collector in me (which I think will be my next two Vita games).
