They're merely trick fights anyway, and it's (obviously) the last one.

Are you gonna try again soon? x

Having trouble with the normal enemies?
Spoiler:
The fish are a nightmare, so I'm guessing you're struggling with those, best bet I found is use Matador (RAV/SEN/SAB) or Dirty Fighting (COM/SEN/SAB) until you've dispelled all their buffs then you can focus on picking them off one by one.
Of course Dispelga works too if you don't mind using the TP for it.

Yeah, my Crystariums are not maxed out. Not by a long shot. It doesn't help that it's so demanding at this point and I can only grind on one Rust Pudding that yields roughly over 1000 CPs.

How I completed Final Fantasy XIII:
Level Grinded on Gran Pulse till I beat the Neochu and got the Growth Egg. After that the game was a walk in the park all the way to the end. The only problem was those fish enemy's that NEVER STOP attacking me in Orphan's Cradle.
My team was Vanille as the leader with Fang and Hope as AI controlled. For most of the bosses and enemies start with SAB/SAB/SYN then once you have at least Haste and Protect on switch to RAV/COM/RAV and kick ass. Healing is handled with MED/SEN/MED and also MED/SEN/SYN.

You've obviously missed the King Behemoth and giant wolf-thing, which are fighting just outside that cave, as you cannot fail to get a pre-emptive strike on them, and they're worth over 6,000 CP.
If you ever need to grind easily, they're your guys.

AsukaNeumaki wrote:Level Grinded on Gran Pulse till I beat the Neochu and got the Growth Egg.

Well, that doesn't help as he's not even that far yet!

Yeah, I already mentioned those, and how I dealt with them.
Spoiler:
Simply have a sentinel to draw their attacks while you dispel their buffs and then pick them off one by one. The target times are fairly long so you're meant to pace yourself with them.

I did fight them and kill them both. My problem rests in the fact that I'm stuck between fighting Hetaconchier and a blockade of those tough robot enemies whose names elude me. I can't kill the robots unless I get really lucky, so backtracking isn't an option.

Oh Hecaton well what are your stats at this point? Also what weapons do Vanille and Fang have currently?
You're gonna want them to have at least 2000 HP.

You can kill them repeatedly though, as they respawn as soon they are out of the minimap range, thus, grinding central.
The Boxed Phalanxes smart. Trick is just rush the Phalanx with everything you've got, and worry about the other guys later, possibly popping a Dispelga if you're having trouble with their buffs.

Though really, if you're not scraping by on those Eidolon fights, you've been using shrouds. :P

Well then. I'm gonna base you not being able to beat them on the grounds they don't have enough HP so go the shop and buy the strongest bangle at the shops for them and level them up to the highest you can with the items you do have. Equip them and you should have a fair amount of HP then just have Vanille start the battle as SAB and Fang as SEN (You will want her to be a SEN the whole battle have her as that for all your Paradigms) Then before he attacks quickly switch to MED/SEN and heal Fang the whole time and DON'T stop. Then when he does Looming Wrath switch back to SAB/SEN and keep debuffing him. Repeat this process until the Gestalt button appears. Sorry if someone already posted this strategy but this is how I beat him.

Next time I play XIII, I'll spend a massive amount of time grinding then try again, using the tips you guys gave me.

@Ring - Other than Hetacon, the only Eidolon I had trouble with was Sazh's.

Not even Odin? That trips everyone up.
Also the first one, at least in my case, simply because I didn't understand what the heck was going on due to the density of the information they threw at you.
