Dark Souls (PS3-360)

A place for everybody to talk about anything game-related.

I'm not blaming gamespot... I blame the salesguy. I'm just wanting to order that one particular game elsewhere is all, not every game >=P.

But I said the same thing, they may not be the majority, but they are the majority of the people who have anything to actually say in the matter. The people who don't care what games you play wont actually say that, they'll just move on.

As for trolls, yeah I ignore them except when I see that they're actually convincing a potential human being (trolls aren't human) anything. Plus I've never seen a troll trope manage to bridge the gap to reality, quite like this one has somehow. Most trolls, if they did what they do in real life, they'd get shanked in an alley, but not this.

My view of this game now is yes, its harder, but I haven't had a cheap death yet, and there have been many, though I am only about 4 hours into it. One difference between this one and Demon Souls for me is that I can't seem to play for more than a few hours at a time, when I could do marathon sessions of Demon Souls. Its not that the game isn't fun or anything, not sure what it is, because I really enjoy the game, especially since I just finally figure out how to take out the shield wearing spear users without taking damage. One thing I can say is having played Demon Souls will help you with the exploring part of this game, but will hot help you proceed at a speedy pace. Just like the first game, you have to inch along, as monsters will start to chase you from a further distance than Demon Souls, and they will come from around corners where you won't see them until you are fighting another monster and they sneak up behind you. Thats a death and a lesson learned

As for the anime discussion, yeah, I grew up on anime, own a ton, including the entirety of Dragon Ball Z. Watched that series when i was a teenager and just took me 15 years to finally see the entirety of the Freiza fight and beyond.... People really do not understand anime inspired visuals. To this day I still tense up a bit when a family member walks in on what would seem like a compromising picture in one of my games, like the Neptunia bandage picture, and they have no context for it and automatically become judge, jury, and executioner. People don't understand that a joke like that in anime is akin to a woman standing on a vent and getting her dress blown up over her head in real life.

Also, whats up with this fixation of panties being extremely taboo? In my opinion panties and the bottom half of a bikini are pretty much the same thing, and women and girls walk around pools and beaches wearing those all the time. So if we say those characters are really wearing bikini's, all of our anime inspired games will become acceptable? In the grand scheme of things, the only misunderstood issues with the west and anime is humor. Most people aren't used to the humor in anime, like Ranma 1/2 for instance, so they see 30 seconds of a show and condemn it. They won't take 20 minutes to watch an episode because they judge without reason. I used to worry about my anime, but I can actually catch my folks watching some nowadays, usually one or 2 once in a blue moon on sci-fi, on pardon forgot that annoying change, scy-fy, or the saturday night adult swim block that I watch weekly, I would catch them watching bleach or Full Metal Alchemist. Times are changing, just slowly.

I sadly am going through the painful experience of international shipping, which is proving to be more frustrating than any game will ever be, Dark Souls included.

Otherwise, believe me, I'd be fueling discussion to no end.

I can relate to the pains of international shipping.

It all really depends on your location and where you're getting it shipped from. An example is if I order something from Japan, I get it in a week, but if I order something from the U.S, which is closer, it takes two weeks.

I feel you, I really do. I've learned that there are sellers on the internet (at your own country) that get new games almost at the same day as the US release, and if I can't wait for the game, I buy from them. I did it with Catherine (although I had a few problems with the seller), and it's a lot faster. I've ordered P2P and P3P last month and I'm probably getting them only in a couple of weeks, and NISA just shipped my D4+AT copies, it'll probably take even longer.

It's not really as much as the shipping takes, as the days it's lost in the custom limbo. Even weeks, at times...

Problem is that said retailers usually bloat their prices ridiculously, and most don't really provide the same services for most small games. That and those that don't ask for double the price get the games a week after release, at best.

That, and I believe there was an enacted law which made it illegal to sell what may be considered "war", or rather, "violent" videogames online. They're not hard to find in stores, and nobody really cares otherwise (not even customs), but to keep the facade most online posts about said games are usually deleted, at least in big online sellers and the likes. And since the law enforcement can be a bitch when it wants to, even games that don't fit the description are impossible to find in common online shops.

That, and most games just love to show an armed protagonist in the cover. So thanks for making things easier, publishers.

Oh, that sucks. At least here we can get violent games even if there are plenty of "adults" who frown upon such games. It's really easy to find any game online, and there has been one seller at Mercado Livre that sold nearly 90 PS3 copies of Dark Souls last week, I'm betting there were others that already got it and sold out as well.

That's funny 'cause Anime usually has better plots than whatever Hollywood is crapping out nowadays. In my opinion.

Ah yeah I've had a couple items take extra long and it always turns out it was stuck at the border.

The funniest thing happened to me once, I had ordered 4 manga's from a U.S Ebay seller and they were taking a really long time. So I was starting to wonder if the seller was trying to scam me since they were really cheap, it was all sort of fishy.

Eventually I got a package wrapped in plastic by the Mail service with the actual package looking like it went through the blender, there was a note saying that there was an accident at the mail distribution office and I could make a claim and get some money for my loss.

Two of the manga's were in the package mostly unharmed but the other two were no where to be seen.

I'll always wonder what kind of "accident" could have happened. :o

I haven't been able to play for the last few days qq. But yeah it's still great. I currently just got to anor londo or whatever it's called, but I back tracked and decided to do the forest area first, which I'm currently in the middle of.
