People are already claiming that it's selling out everywhere at GameFAQs, to the point where Amazon sold all their stock and had to re-stock in a hurry today. I think I won't give myself the time to wait until Tales of Graces F and I'll already pre-order/order both of them right now.

That's pretty great! :o

Was Namco too dumb to print only a limited number of copies, or smart enough to realize that by making a limited print, everyone would rush to get a copy?

The first part of this sentence doesn't make sense. The second part is probably not true. :D

I think Namco didn't have high expectations for this port, and printed a low first run like the always do.

Maybe they underestimated Tales fans? I mean, I know JRPGs in general get small prints, but when it's something... more known and a bit bigger, you'd think they'd print a few more? Grats Tales!! This'll definately get a couple more shipments :)

It may not even be a week until Gamestop runs out of stock for Tales of the Abyss as well.

It's always nice to see these types of games run out of stock, but at the same time they're losing potential sales. Quite the conundrum. :?

I wouldn't say they're losing sales. Think about it: all the big fans preordered and (supposedly) picked them up. Ok, those copies sold. Other fans walked in and bought copies. But, there are still fans that waited/are waiting to pick it up, plus other people that are discovering the title only now. Once there's demand that people STILL want it, more will be produced and be sold. Don't forget, the faster an item sells out, that info goes directly to the company's warehouse and to the manufacturer to send more because the demand is high! The more people buy, the more that will be produced, until sales start to slow down.

Besides, if people really want it, they will keep searching, waiting, and asking Namco for it.

Amazon's no longer getting any money now, only resellers are selling the game.

Well, there are also the people that wanted it on a whim and no that it is no longer available, may lose interest. I could see this happening with people that actually want the game as well. Not everyone is dedicated enough to care for so long. That is what I was referring to, when I said lose potential sales.

When a game is selling out, it means the company didn't know how to predict sales properly. That's the gist of it.

^ A big example of that is Borderlands. Everyone thought it would just be some AA title (or A?) that would do ok. But, when every retailer only got a handful of copies and then demand showed, supply then came and you bet people bought it! Still, that was also because it was multiplayer and people with their friends wanted to all pick it up and play together...

Once again: stay... positive! Look at how patient people wanting Radiant Historia were...

Anyone with a DS will be patient, there's hardly any game left for it by now.
