These are my early issues.

1) It looks exactly like uncharted in terms of visual style. Thats off putting to me.
2) The main male lead looks exaclty like nathan but with a beard and 20 years older.
3) the environments look bland to me.

Not before I get ripped apart I know its still early. But thats my initial impression after those shots

Umm, Uncharted's visual style is amazing, how is that a turn off? You don't like games with beautiful graphics?

I personally think the only environment shown is quite nice actually. I won't comment on the lead looking like Drake thou, dispite my disagreement with the statement.

Regardless of your personal preference in style, the graphics are good. Do you not like 3D games?

I love 3d games. But you dont have to sacrifice art styles for polygons to make it happen..

All I am saying is I wish they went in another direction, since this is basically uncharted. I will have to see how it plays out

I would say it is very close to Uncharted but that's not really a bad thing to me. Uncharted was very well done, only thing I dislike are the length of the games.

This and Uncharted are very different Uncharted is like a more bad ass version of an Indian Jones movie this game is more like a better and not a boring pos version of The Road movie, if Joel was 20 years older than Drake he'd be in his 50s close to 60, I believe Drake is in his late 30s.

Not before I get ripped apart I know its still early. But thats my initial impression after those shots

Finally someone with the same opinion as me :P
The environment looks like it was snatched from Enslaved or something imo. (Not that thats a bad thing , i appreciate colorful stages & not the usual gray , dull wastelands we usually get in this genre of games.)

This. Uncharted looks amazing visually. The gameplay was decent, but everything else clearly made up for the generic run&gun gameplay. I also agree, the extremely short length is my main criticism for U3.

I love wasteland, post apocalyptic, destroyed world type settings. Enslaved, Fallout, Rage, and Borderlands all did this differently, and well. From the announcement trailer, The Last of Us looks like it'll have a beautiful setting as well, I can't wait to see more.

Those saying the game looks bland should simply wait for more screenshots to be released.

the graphics do look nice but I will take a unique art style and setting over the "lets see how many polygons we can put on a screen mentality" any day
