...Cat looks adorable (But the way people translated the names annoys me, because it's not right at all right [for example, Cat's name]). They kept the musical genius of Shikata Akiko so I'm not that mad about the whole 'getting rid of some of what made the game what it is.' ntny is also the designer and s/he did the designs for AT1-3. Barcodes to deliciously cute fairies isn't so bad either, and the graphics are very nice. I'm overall getting excited for the game now.

Yeah, that upset me too. I was really attached to the AT3 characters too... they were the most loveable out of all Ar Tonelico games (Well, for me they were), and the bright scenery and colorful feeling + the character designs were so colorful and really represented their culture well. Hopefully, there are cameos... one way or another.

Man, I'm really feeling this game plus I adore fairies (and sim type games)!

One thing that fills me with dread though is the possibility of localization. What do you guys think, honestly now, the possibility of it being localized are? If anything I think NISA would localize it since they have a relationship with Gust with the Atelier games, Mana Khemia and Ar tonelico but if they pass on it that's what really scares me. I really want this game!

I personally don't think a localization is too out of the question. I have my reasons behind it. Honestly, I kinda have hope.

I don't know, the whole monthly DLC thing is killing it right now.

It did feel a bit padded when I posted it. I don't think I can bring myself to believe any less.

It's not official that this is meant to be directly from the Ar tonelico series, is it? Sure, there are a lot of similarities, but I haven't seen it officially said it's of the same world either. So if I were you guys, I wouldn't be hoping for this being related to the series too much. My guess is Tecmo-Koei wanted something like Ar tonelico in a genre they preferred (DLC-based game), while Gust didn't completely want to lump this with Ar tonelico either.

Ar tonelico was jointly developed with Bandai, so Bandai held some of the rights for those games, so Gust had to make it a different series to be able to continue making it since they're with Tecmo Koei now. But, that's just deductive reasoning, and it's not necessarily the correct conclusion. It's just a hypothesis of mine really.

Personally, the game play looks awesome to me it's just it's chances of localization that scare me. Like, a lot. Usually with more then one company involved the chances become lower but by God, I will keep pushing for this!! The beautiful artwork is one of the main reason that pulled me in, I must say.

Only regret is you can't chose a guy to raise/hang out with. Hey, I'm flexible though. Ion is adorable and I love fairies, squeeeee~

But I thought Gust was the sole developer for all of them with the exception of Qoga where it was with Banpresto. I gathered that publishers play no part in rights (which I thought was Bandai's only role, unless they own Banpresto, which I admit, I don't know anything about that so I am ignorant about that issue)? That said, Banpresto did develop Qoga, but just because of that, they don't own rights to the entire series, do they? I'm honestly asking this, not disputing anything. Because the theory of them wanting to use the world but having to tip-toe around copyrighted names would make sense too...

That's exactly how it works, even if they were just a publisher in that country. They would get some rights to the game for that country. considering Banpresto (yes, owned by Bandai) co-developed Qoga, yes, they most definitely cannot use that world unless they are able to buy the rights back.

So, this is most likely them tip-toeing around the copyright issues.
