The CyberConnect2-developed fighting game will be included on a hybrid disc with the .hack//Sekai no Mukou Ni CG movie on June 28 in Japan. It will support stereoscopic 3D. The standard release will cost 7,140 yen. A “The World” version, including a 48-page art book, 25 small posters, a theater pamphlet, extra DVD, and other bonuses, will be released for 10,500 yen.

It couldn't be that bad, remember Tri-Ace's realistic video featuring an unknown character to show off their engine?

Hehe, they sort of teased this not long ago, and then deleted the info with a big "oops!" :p Still awesome to hear, and hopefully Link can come out as some sort of PS3 HD title, so fans can enjoy it before the new one... assuming they will actually look into it to localize!

I think of .hack as the Mayan calandar... it was never going to be the end, but the "end of an era" for it :p

I really like the idea behind the franchise but... I just can't finish INFECTION, I get so bored after the first 5 iterations of "run into dungeon, use bracelet on boss, do it again"... and since I can't even finish the main series, I feel like I won't completely understand stuff in the sequels/spin-offs. I should probably rewatch SIGN, but I don't remember enjoying it much the first time so it's kind of hard to convince myself to try again.

The cow things are awesome though.

That was still anime style though.

If it's like this new movie or something that's fine. But, I'm getting a bad feeling from this. Well, when the screens pop up we'll know what we're up against.

If it's not going to come out on the PS3 and in NA, else I'll never play it. I don't import and I don't play handhelds.

I got 'WESTERNIZATION' vibes from it. That's what has me worried.

Anyway, until we see the actual art, it's just speculation on my end.

Geez, you've posted more than twice about you being worried when we don't even have a single screenshot to judge from. Chill out.

I don't think it will be... My idea is that since it's a simulated MMORPG that's apparently realistic-looking already, why not us, the players, be able to see this world as a more realistic looking place too? We're just used to seeing it in anime/PS2 graphic-form... Don't forget, the series is in the future too, so they'd probably be advanced enough to make it look like Avatar, in terms of graphics :p

No, not really. I just prefer the brighter colors of anime. It doesn't make it any more 'amazing' just because it's 'realistic'. Case in point. Advent Children and Degeneration. Those are examples of realistic, done in a way I can really enjoy. I hated the other Resident Evil movies, but Degeneration was great ~

Anyway, as I stated before, screens are needed. I hate these things, because it's talking about a picture. Which is pointless. A picture needs to be seen to be understood.
