With a 92 out of 100 metascore, from 19 different reviews, of which almost half of them a perfect 10/10, Journey is shaping up to be thatgamecompany's most successful game to date, rivaling Flower and Flow, great games from the same company.

It'll be released on March 13th (US, BR and JP), 14 (EU) on the PSN, for $15 (US), 1400 yen (JP) and price to be announced for Europe.

At $15 for 2 hours of gameplay...I'll likely wait til it gets a sale or a price drop. It does look like a really cool game though~

There's things I might argue are worth their asking price despite not being very long, although it's difficult to judge that before you've actually played the game. So I usually end up buying them cheap in a sale and then say I would've been willing to pay more for it, but then that's the benefit of hindsight.
Then again, I possibly have made it up on occasion simply by buying game-related merchandise and stuff instead.

Yeah it's really hard to tell until after you've played a game like this. I try to stay on the side of caution and wait.

Hey, I'd rather pay $15 and have pleasure for 2 hours than paying $50 and getting Agarest Zero.

$15 IS a bit much for a 2-hour game. Maybe if it were $10 or less.

Well look at it this way; the price of movie tickets are steadily going up and for a premium showing time, they are going to be pushing $15 (it already is at that here in Japan) for just a mere 2 hours of entertainment.

It's all relative really.

If you enjoy yourself enough, then it was worth it. That's the way I look at it.

I won't be getting this game though. Not because of the price, it just doesn't seem that interesting to me.

Well, there's numerous ways I could pick that apart, as although things are relative, this isn't a relative length:cost ratio for a game.
You could compare to to cinema tickets, but games also require an upfront investment in the form of a platform to play the games on in the first place, therefore you effectively spread that cost of the console amongst all of the purchases made for it. Going to see a movie simply doesn't have that, as you don't have to pay for anything else before you can there that will be reused for future purchases.

I've probably not made it very clear, but it's difficult for me to explain for some reason. I'm not getting the right wording in my head.

What if the game has replay value, though?

I almost made the mistake of getting the LE edition with the extras. It looked sweet, but the cashier knew his stuff and convinced me to get a better game.... I forget which game though.

Anyways, this game has had my general attention ever since I've heard about it last year. The main thing I remember being touted was how the multiplayer worked and how it could make each game session a bit different from the others. Other wise its going to be another stunning looking game. I played a bit of flower and I played through Flow so its looking to be a another stellar game from thatgamecompany.

Then it's not strictly a 2-hour game anymore.

Well, maybe it takes two hours to complete, but you can have fun playing it again for a long while. :s
