What is your favorite type of story/setting (i.e. Medieval/Fantasy, Sci-fi, Spagetti-Western, Drama, Mystery, etc....)

I love murder mysteries (Persona 4) and sci-fi fantasy (Star Ocean)

Why do you name your topics with random titles? :o

Steampunk Futurism(ala Ar Tonelico, movies like Laputa(Miyazaki)).

I'm also fond of Asian settings(Deus Ex, Hong Kong, its nostalgia to me!). The conspiracy theory element of the game is what keeps you coming back for more.

You said setting right? Lol, that's genre.

I would have to say that the recovered post-apocalyptic future is my favorite setting. For example, games like Ar Tonelico and Phantasy Star 4 were awesome at doing this. Its the distant future, the world has ended (at least once), and some of the advanced technology has turned into mysticism. I guess that type of plot element is a bit cliche, but I still think Ar Tonelico presented it in possibly the most enchanting manner. I just wish there was more for us English speakers to explore.
