Wow, seems this exploded overnight.
I still think there's a fair amount of knee-jerk reactions to things such as this, and they don't often help matters.

Granted its not the most positive reaction and what not, but similar endeavors worked when dealing Namco Bandai, and they worked damn well, almost to well even, so well it kinda scared me.

Like what? What is there exactly to be debated about? That's right, nothing. This is a pretty clear cut decision and the result is obvious. Sugar coating things isn't going to help matters either. It is what it is and anyone can draw their just decisions based on that.

Although it's the kind of thing that can very easily backfire. So very easily.

This Tweet https://twitter.com/tecmokoeieurope/sta ... 7754237953 Seems to tell a different story. Perhaps only the EU version is getting both tracks? If thats the case you could always import no problem.

my $0.02:

KT have their reasons for doing this--we don't know what they are.

Well, we sort of do, it's easy to strap one together from what we know and common sense. Koei Tecmo US is a very small, historically cheap branch from a large scale publisher. They are known for feature stripping and digital-only releases, I'm actually amazed we got a physical release for Ayesha, I somewhat assume this will not continue far into the future.

Keeping in the JP track costs money, and it's well known, despite what you might think based on internet posts, that the English track is far, far, far more important to driving sales on a Western release. This has been the case ever since I was a kid and it's not changed now.

You might think a sub only release would be cheaper than a dub only, but that's almost never the case, especially with the returns on things.

NISA is a company that has their finger on the pulse of what their fanbase desires in a well rounded product, and has built loyalty through reasonably catering to it. Koei Tecmo is going to be more about the pure economics, that's what you get with a big publisher.

Houk said in the Prinny Bomb board that both versions are the same.

It was confirmed that it's not only going to have a partial dub but it won't be dual-audio, either. You can thank TK for the lack of dual-audio because they're the ones who ordered the removal of the japanese voices.

I think alot of us were afraid this was gonna happen.

Unfortunately this will not be a day 1 buy for me, I will wait till the price drops then reserve my decision on buying the game, and I think this brings up another important fact that we should all support NISA for giving niche jrpg fans what they want with jap dub / special editions without asking for anything more in return.

Since NISA is only localising this not publishing it there will be no money lost for them regardless of our support right?

What do you guys think about the possibility of TK not bringing any futher atelier franchises over due to lack of support from fans for ayesha? there doesn't even seen to be any news about the next atelier series either, I am guessing they've been spending all their time porting totori and meruru to vita.

Haha, Sorry. Just never been a fan of the guy. Anywho, someone has to be wrong here. TECMO KOEI EU is tweeting that it is English only subs with both tracks.

No dual-audio? What about the tweet above-mentioned TK's tweet?
(Thanks for your reply, BTW :) )
