Fellow rhythm game fans unite! Remember that next month we get both Rhythm Thief and Theatrhythm! Punching French people and slaying monsters has never been so catchy!

That should be Nintendo's catch-line for July.

New french preview here:
http://www.bamarenlive.com/2012/06/t...do-3ds-xl.html

- the screen looks good, very good
- while the image looked worse on a DSiXL than on a DSi, it's not the case here. 3DSXL pixels look as defined as on 3DS.
- the screen seems very luminous
- 3D effect is more comfortable and more immediate
- the analog stick is more convenient to use, no need to bend your thumb anymore

Huge screen
Better viewing angle
3D effect looks better/more effective/more natural
2D mode looks better than regular 3DS
Image looks better/softer (they assume there might be some filter but not sure)
The grip (round corners) fit nicely
Unit fits better in hands (they wonder if it should've been the main design in first place)
Unit is lighter than they expected
There's a coat in the unit (not fully matte) that gives it a "deluxe plastic imitating metal" look
Not sure at the sound as the room was quite noisy

And the second analog stick comes to appease the concerned peoples....with a price.

I feel sorry who wants a 2nd analog stick for their 3DS. Personally I care not for a 2nd one so I'm good. :)

Personally I'm looking forward to how big the Circle Pad Pro XL is going to be; perhaps this time it will match a model 2 Sega CD.

Anyway, the 3DS XL looks very nice, but I'm not sure if I'll end up upgrading. I never upgraded my original DS at all; I stuck with the fat 2004 unit all the way through. Though it's more tempting to upgrade my 3DS to an XL, since apparently the larger screens make everything look nicer. If I do end up upgrading, I think I'll wait until a white unit is available (to compliment my black 3DS).

And I probably won't pick up the CPP XL; if I want to play dual analog games on my 3DS, I can always just use my original with my regular CPP. :P

There is a system update out for the 3DS as of yesterday. Also Pokedex 3D will not longer be available after October 1st. It will be replaced by the Pro version (I believe that is its title) which will not be free.

New 3DS XL designs featuring Animal Crossing, New Super Mario Bros, and a pure black one. I want the AC 3DS.
