I prefer clear designs. I wonder when we'll ever get to see one of those in the future?

I haven't seen any since GBC. Maybe they think that seeing a console/handhelds' inners would make it look less appealing for some reason? :/ If anything, I'd think that exposing the insides, would remind dummies that it's fragile and to take care of their systems (oh the horrors I've seen of how people treat their things...)

I'd prefer one of the Japanese color models, but if they don't come out by June, I'm getting that purple one.

The purple 3DS model is out today in the United States and several retailers are offering a $20 gift card with the purchase of any 3DS this week. The retailers I know that are having this deal are Best Buy, Target, and Toys R Us (who is having a buy one 3DS/DS/Wii game, get the second 40% off).

I think the reason for that is because the clear plastic is actually weaker or something like that, when compared to what they usually use.

I wonder that too. I'm torn whether to wait til it gets released and buy a nice used original model cheap or get the lite model.

The 3DS is currently selling at a loss guys. A "lite" version won't be coming for a long time.

Hardware doesn't stop 'selling at a loss' no matter how many units are sold >.>

it's reliant on the games to make up the costs.

The cost of the manufacturing parts can go lower, but generally that's not the case. So, if they're selling them at a loss right now, that means they're selling them for less than the costs to make them. Unless they find ways to cut costs, they will continue selling at a loss no matter how many units are sold. It's up to other divisions to make up for the loss.

Thats just an estimate. I could be profitable in June, or it could take till August. I hope it takes longer just to mess with you.
