Demon Gaze 2 on Play Asia

Postby EmperorZetta » Fri Dec 23, 2016 5:59 am

Gematsu posted a link to an Asian-English version of Demon Gaze 2 that's set to release next March. Can NISA comment on this? Are you guys still localizing the game?

I just saw that too....what's up with that?!

I'm REALLY hoping to see a real western release here and have been waiting patiently for news...but yeah, Play-asia happened.

....Not sure what to think here.

I'd like to know as well. Is NISA still going to localize Demon Gaze 2, or it's going to be an Asia-only release like Moero Chronicles?

Man, I really hope not...that'd screw me/us out of the DLC content...and that extra lengthy story/dungeon content that nods back to the first game...an older Pinay man, AN OLDER PINAY!!!! Plus, it's touted to be nearly as long a campaign as the base game, which would be AWESOME! I'm pretty sure it's DLC, so yeah....NISA(or Experience...but somebody do it), gimme!

Seriously though...news would be good, but I'm also weirded out by how Stranger of Sword City Revisited got handled...I'd prefer if we got a legit release, but I'd like to avoid the "one version handled by A ehile the other is handled by B" scenario too.

...Ugh, this weirdness with niche game releases is irritating...like how Moe Crystal's English release just vanished in favor of pure Chinese...ir this Demon Gaze 2 news.

Yeah, the Vita is poorly designed for imports. The only way to play English text imports like these with DLC is to make a Hong Kong PSN account and buy HK PSN cards.

I asked Play-Asia about the English text version since it's supposed to be coming out this month, but the release date is still not confirmed yet:

Okay...Now I'm really, REALLY skeptical here.
This sounds a bit like what happened with Moe Crystal's supposed English sub release that just died off somewhere along the way....

Honestly, I absolutely HATE when a publisher picks up a title but screws us out of the sequels(for whatever reason), so importing an English Asia version is my option of last resort, same with series that I want...but equally hated are weird situations like this where the potential consumer and gaming fan just have no clue what's going on and either get no answers, or vague stock replies like your answer.

To be fair, I have my doubts that NISA is that much in the loop if they decided not to localize DG2, but seeing as the first game was pretty well recieved, I'd be kinda surprised if NISA may not have decided to greenlight 2. That'd be REALLY dissapointing...but the fact is we don't know and nobody's saying anything helpful.

Frustration and expectations build....a truly vicious cycle really.

Welp, seeing as it is already March all we can do is wait and see, unfortunately.
