Vio's voice sounds like Tsukiko from Hentai Ouji to Warawanai Neko...

The game difficulty is as you wish it to be.

Want to play it hard? Just don't level up.

If you want to take it easy, grind XP. I just went in a boss battle (Phalanx) and he wasn't even able to scratch me... (I was LV34)

This is one of the easiest games I've played for years, and I'm not complaining. I like it easy.

Just don't expect too much from it, especially a scenario and good characters.

Last time I'd seen something that stereotypical, it was on Atari 2600.

And no, it's not really worth 30€. My advice would be to pick a japanese version, even if you don't speak japanese.

It may be cheaper, you'd have the game physically, and you'd miss nothing from the scenario anyway. And the game mechanisms aren't hard to figure at all, so the language barrier is not an issue.

I got my hands on the Japanese version months ago, so that's good to hear as far as the controls go.

Either way, sounds like a solid, low budget game. ;)

It really is, but boy does it piss me off sometimes

Also, I have no clue how you are supposed to get a 300 hit combo,

Perhaps purposely equip a really weak weapon against strong late game enemies. It would increase the number of hits you can get per enemy. It shouldn't be that hard later in the game I'm sure.

Ah, yeah, and then cheese it with one of your ranged attackers...using that method in one of the ice continent maps, I got up to about 224 with Raltz.

To anybody who cares enough about trophies to use this method, here's a nice way to get the 300 hit count.

1) Get a weak bow from the "Raltz's First Battle" stage

2) Go to the stage, "In Search of Luise" in the Southeastern Kingdom after equipping said bow to Raltz.

3) Make sure the enemies remain off screen, you can have parts of the enemy visible, but they can't be in range to actually attack you. If done correctly, you shouldn't be hit before you get your 300 hits.

PS: This method will also get you an S rank for "In Search of Luise"

Edit: And I just noticed there's a 500 hit trophy...I'll have to find a good stage for that later, but it'll most likely involve said weak bow still

Okay I feel better then it isn't just me I think i'm like 15 and 10 respectively in about that spot, i just had to Defend my way through side quest one because my main characters were dying.

The character I'm probably going to be using the most is the spear guy. Of course when I get him. When I saw some gameplay footage of him. He does look badass and pretty strong. ;)

I asked someone on PST.org who has the JP plat if there are any better tactics or good stages for 500 Hits. Now to wait.

I had 300 hits easily with Raltz.

Equip a so-so bow, go to "wandering the maze" in the volcano region (unlocks when moving along with the story).

There, monsters only attack when you're relatively nearby, but due to your long range you can hit them even before they show up on screen.

The game as a "tolerance zone", it's an offscreen zone, with the next set of monsters hit box already loaded, even if you can't see them yet.

So advance really carefully, and shot continuously. When you hear it hits something, stop and continue firing until your shots stopped hitting things.

It's relatively easy to get a high combo because of the wolves monster, who tend to block a lot of attacks. In order to be added to your combo count, an attack does not have to deal damage, it just has to hit the target.

You can't be hit by ennemies, but again, most ennemis won't even react to your presence and die offscreen.

Some set of wolves spawn in your back, it happens twice I think, that's something you must remember, because these monsters will spawn near enough from you for the computer to execute their programmed attack patterns.

If you're not sure about the outcome of such an attack, have Yuni with you, and a very high affinity between her and Raltz, so when you unleash your special attack it will be combined with Yuni's, and no matter where the enemies are as long as they are on screen, they will be hit by the attack and probably destroyed if Yuni is strong enough.

The special attack gauge increase very quickly due to the high amount of hits you're doing.

You can easily get the 500+ hit combo if you take your time and shoot the enemies coming from the right when they're still offscreen and lenient.

Just be careful of the few batches coming from the left, in your back.

Do the stage once or twice so you memorize the pattern of the different monster batches.

You may also try with a magician like Yuni or Elias if their staves shoots bullets, especially fiery ones, since the enemies are resistant to that (more hits to kill) but the attack speed of magicians is slower than that of the archer.

It also probably works with a gunner, though I don't have one to try it out now.

For those who aren't as far as I am but still want the 500+ hit combos, you may try the first stage you unlock in the ice field, there are blue wolves there and they block very often. But those ice birds shooting multiple crystals may make things a lot harder and enraging.

Alright, turns out that there's a ring after beating the game that can make this easier. It's a ring that makes a shadow of the character you're controlling that takes the same action as you with a second delay. Should help with rate of fire for that bow tactic.

Sounds pretty useful. That will get the job done a lot faster.
