Because, the name of the character you play is "The Hundred Knight"

Well that would indeed explain it.

Yup. Very early on, we were (understandably) under the impression that there were 100 different knights in the game, but that turned out not to be the case - just the one li'l guy.

Now that I get it, that's actually a pretty neat little title.

Still iffy on the game (nothing to do with the localization though), but that's at least one thing I won't have to wonder about anymore.

Yeah, the name is very weird.
It really sounds like it should be either 'knights' or 'hundredth', despite that not being the case.

Don't know if "general discussion thread" is the most appropriate place for me to kiss ass but I just wanted to say: thanks for bringing this over, NISA. Had my eye on it ever since it got announced last year. Been meaning to get into more of Compile Heart's RPGs and this looks like a very appropriate and enjoyable place to start.

Will look forward to picking this up later in the year.

Japanese names and plurals tend to get a bit odd at times.

Actually, and this is probably going to sound weird coming from someone who was just complaining about it, but I think it works fine when you look at it as just one guy's title.

In this case, correct me if I'm wrong, but it's not the (in)ability to translate the language that's the problem, it's the concept behind the character itself. He is the "Hundred Knight," which is a title, same as "Forest Knight" or "Knight of the Lake" or something. The tendency to want to conform it to a conventional "adjective object" is why it sounds off, but, as it is a title, it is certainly correct as it is localized.

EDIT: Damn you 7th -.-

You're too slow!

Your explanation is better though so it evens out.

Yeah, it just doesn't flow grammatically.
But names are one of the few things allowed to break such rules, even though they can be a bit of stumbling block to actually pronounce.

Really looking forward to this game and cant wait to see what'll be in the LE~ I only hope the localization (budget wise) is handled better than in Victory. Heard it was a shorter game so it should be fine...

Also how do you pronounce Alyn's new name?
I keep saying er-ren, but I have a feeling it actually sounds something like er-rene...

Huh? Then, wouldn't Elyn have made more sense?
Ah, oh well.

I understand this game will feature dual audio correct? does this mean the English dub will be partial only? And what about NISAs other upcoming games, will they be partial dub only?
