Fan-Classes / Class/Weapon Ideas

Straight-forward enough, I hope. If there's ever been a type of class you wanted to see implemented in Disgaea, or a new type of weapon you'd like to see, or just some fantastic idea you've ever had, post about it here and see what others think! A Dancer class? A physical "staff" weapon (a fighting stick)? Bring back the nunchaku from MK? Maybe the Merchant class to help influence things at the shop while you level them? Things like that.

Got a large list from over the years myself, but I can't get to it at the moment.

What I would really like to see is some improvement on what's actually in the game as we speak; Shops and money itself become worthless in the Post-game. but, more on topic:

Special Weapons:
    Money weapon that turns EXP into HL
    Time weapon that grows stronger with time played
    Sword that grows stronger as you kill enemies with it (Masamune?)

Since most of the post game revolves around unit-building and item perfection, maybe there should be some shops that cater to that.

A Chef class that synthesizes/crafts food items would be cool(I could imagine Champloo doing this)

Well, hell, given that Champloo is practically a revamped version of the Makai Kingdom chef class as it is...

Though I don't think they were big "chefs" if I remember right, but I never used them much anyway.

Those weapons do sound pretty good though... But at the same time, kind of easy to abuse - not necessarily in a bad way though. But I imagine there would be a crowd that leave their game on for that time one.

How about an Item World equipment, which gains an amount equal to its level in each stat for every floor you delve into the item world when it is equipped to you?

Say you have a level X Item World Sword. You bring it into the item world equipped, and for every level you delve in the item world it gains X in each stat. It would eventually grow to be really strong, but you have to be dedicated to it.

Now THAT is abusible! And Munchkinly.

Tier 40 weapons trump most ideas overall, though.

How about some abilities?
Blind Sheep - Does 1 damage when alone, 200% damage when part of a combo attack/skill.
Fusion-HA - Character adjacent to self is absorbed, gains 50% of stats until end of battle (Absorbed character needs to be revived afterward.)
Pirate Seeker - +20% chance of pirate appearance in Item World. (Stacks)
Plot Armor - 80% chance of surviving fatal blow, only works on certain maps.

I agree that there should be some more unique skills which are two edged or useful only at certain situation (even if I'm not too fond of this specific one)

That actually reminds me of a strange idea I had today. Creating new classes or higher tiers by fusing two (or perhaps more) characters. Pretty good idea that reminds me of Magic Change

Didn't get pirate ship yet, but I believe it could be very helpful if it doesn't exist right now (and I assume it doesn't. not that I know much about it... yet...)

Overall I think adding unique effects (similar to evilties) to armor and weapons is a great idea

My ideas

Dispatching - To have side quest that you can send party members to finish themselves (similar to what done in FFT series). Also, to have the ability to send a team to the item world and they'll level up the item themselves (I guess there should be payment for that or special ticked or some kind of condition so that it not abused)

Characters Achievements - To show status for every character (number of kills, highest damage and etc) and award various prizes based on it (for example giving a prize for "over 500 kills" or something like that). And/Or giving prizes for general achievements with characters such as "over 100 kills with a cleric", "unlocking last tier with the ___ class" and etc.

Choices - It's nice and all to have multiply endings, but I would feel much better if we get them through plot-related choices (like in visual novels) and not killing team members or losing to rivals (although the latter is still nice)

I want to see your reasoning behind this. In a game where your stats are in the hundreds of thousands, 100 points (Max, unless you find a ton of item spheres and mystery gates, and even then...) a floor is pathetic. It would only be a broken weapon if it were a really low rank.

I think an ability that can fuse characters during battle for a certain amount of turns and after battle that fusion character would go back.But once you got the top tier of each of those classes to lvl 1000 you can make the fusion character.

For a weapon I would like some options like using some type of attachment to a characters shoes that takes up the weapon slot and the character just kicks the entire time any suggestions for what the attachment would be though (I was thinkking something like a magic embued chip that goes in a compartment in the heel of the shoe.

Because even a Trap has a max stat limit that is normally achievable.

On the level sword, what cap? From my understanding, he meant it as an initially weak weapon that can gain stats indefinitely.

I really like these ideas.
I love completing achievements, its a lot of fun to do.

These skills (when implemented in a balanced way) also seem pretty cool.
The rest of the ideas in this thread have already been implemented in a different way or are really unstable and abusable.

What I would like to see is a new weapon like fans or dagger being added to the game along with a class being able to use them.
But I must say. The game is already brilliant in my perspective and doesnt need a lot of major improvements.

I read that in Disgaea 4, there is a weapon that becomes stronger every time you defeat another player online.

-About classes i wanna facing more impressive opponents-
cuz i find facing a lvl.9999 Eringa and lose aside is still quite
frustrating after long-train and build-up ur characters-

-Also wanna confronts more unique and extremely powerful
creatures like the legendary ones-Leviathan,Uroboros-etc-

-Regarding weapons i wanna see Scythes-exclusive-not labeled as Axes-
[and some weapons from Makai Kingdom was great adds-like Katanas or
Nunchakus-wonder why they dont shows up anymore-Seedle was sooo stylish with Ktn]

The level sword would have a cap of 100, like a legendary item (unless conventions like Level Spheres and mystery gates are used). Of course, since it would gain stats indefinitely, it would be a valuable, high rank item. This means that it would be a much harder weapon to level up, as the monsters inside would be much stronger.

The principle behind the sword being, you could make it the strongest sword in the game, with a good deal of effort. You also wouldn't have to feel bad if you didn't perfect the item after clearing all of the levels (The save-scumming and luck manipulation behind "Item Perfection" is one of the worst aspects of Disgaea).

Speaking of the whole Item Perfection ordeal, I would also really like to be able to reincarnate weapons(Or at least reset them to base level)

and that's the point. It's munchkinly. Monster strength hasn't mattered in the item world when leveling such an item since D2 anyway...

And, come to think of it, it's still not as munchkinly as the LoD magichange trick.
