Some gamers mention that the Japanese version of the game had some bugs in it.

FYI, I encountered no bugs in the Japanese version.

...at last the reviews have no complaints about bugs thus far; and they haven't argued abut the controls, either.

I've heard that the Japanese version was clean to begin with.... I doubt they had to fix anything out of the box. Remember, this isn't Gust we're talking about.
