Soul Calibur V (PS3/360)

If you're a fan of giant swords then prepare to get excited as Soul Calibur V has been officially announced by Namco Bandai. Developed by Project Soul, Soul Calibur V will be released on X360 and PS3 in 2012.

The latest instalment of the weapon-based fighter will be set 17 years after the events of Soul Calibur IV, and will follow Patroklos, son of Sophitia Alexendra, whose "family destiny intertwines with the Soul swords."

Promising a refined battle system and improved graphics, Namco has said more details, including footage of the newly refined gameplay, will be revealed at E3.

They better add back the RPG mode from Soul Calibur 3 this time. That was pretty much THE reason to play the game singleplayer. I also liked the character models in SC3 somewhat better...they ruined Cassandra in SC4.

I agree wholeheartedly. On BOTH accounts. Except, I think they made Rafael better in 4. But, most of the character models were ruined.

I only played Soul Calibur II and III on the PS2. Those were awesome, but I never felt like buying and playing IV.

I don't like fighting games. But I DID like soul blade x... Everytime a new soul caliber came out I hoped they would go back to their roots, but they never do.
