Who is your BEST Disgaea (sub)main character?

As the title indicates, who's your most powerful story character in the original Disgaea?
You can change your vote if your strongest character changes over time.

So far mine is Laharl

Weird as it sounds, I actually took the time to level up Maderas a bit, and he got to be a badass for close-combat. Yes I know that the Vampire monster later is better, but as far as sub characters go that aren't custom, having a level 540 Maderas isn't bad at all. (I mostly work on custom characters, so everyone else isn't all that high aside from my multi-reincarnated customs.)

Flonne, my super-awesome magic user, is now my best :D and probably always will be.

Now my best character is Laharl.
Then comes my prinny, another prinny, and prinny again, Etna, and then some my own characters, and then Flonne.
I got that game yesterday, so, Flonne is pretty weak, but I'll try level up them, so I can beat Hoggmaiser(?)

Laharl. I always try my very best to make the main character of any RPG as strong as possible which usually means neglecting other characters a little but not enough to make them useless.

Really? Laharl, no contest, no other choice makes any sense in this situation. Now if Plenair was in that poll (she was playable in Disgaea DS) Then I'd easily choose her.

Laharl. As much as I prefer Etna as a character, I don't like spear users much, and giving her a weapon she isn't strong with isn't really my style, generally.

well, mine has gotta be laharl.

if we don't have leveling up in the game, in general, flonne is quite weak, she can lose to the others but i'm not so sure about the defenders of earth. kurtis' strength is a bit lower than laharl.(proven after u beat kurtis, laharl admit that kurtis is very strong)mid boss is also very powerful but he just held back in every battle.(prove=midboss=king krievchevskoy, he fought Baal but he lost eventhough he gave Baal a fight)

I don't think you should of added Laharl/Etna/Flonne to the poll as they aren't sub main characters and you aren't going to get a whole lot of answers outside of them.

Also Hoggmeiser and Maderas are the absolute worst and I loathe how I'm forced to have them, both are insanely weak, slow, and dumb, they don't show up in any cutscenes and it just doesn't make sense for them to force two crappy characters on you, especially when they made one of them a normal monster type late into the game. I mean really c'mon now.

Favorite sub character though would easily be Kurtis, tomo yo forever.

He's a close second, he's what every good sub character needs to be, yeah he hams it up but when the time it's revealed he's seriously behind everything good and in cahoots with lamington, just gotta look back and be like "Man, he really was just helping all along, King. K was a cool guy"

Mine was Laharl at 155, but since I got D2 DHD for PSP, I haven`t been playing D1 much.
