Query: How will NPCs be handled? As we don't have a huge user base to begin with, I would assume (perhaps wrongly) the school's populace will be filled out by NPCs. Also, as my character is a noble, he has a maid who will accompany him to the school, though he will likely send her back to France in the first post so there isn't one character gallivanting around with an NPC right off the bat. I'd like to have her come back at some point, though, if it's permissible.

But I will not be infringing on other people's stories, unless they are breaking on of the rules of course.

And what kind of schedule is this school on? Are there going to be terms and exam periods? Or are we more or less given carte blanche to study and research as we see fit?

Terms and exam periods. There will be mid-terms, and finals for each term. The length of these terms would really depend on how the players play it through. This school starts on the first day of the year, and the last day of the term is one week before the year's end. Giving a short week's rest inbetween the terms. But, there are of course holidays and such. But, not a whole lot. This is kind of a school with the intention of saving the world, so things are not as lax as some colleges can be. And days off are few and far between.

The fountain of youth doesn't make one immortal, just prevents aging. They still very much can die quite beautifully

Believe me, these exams won't be nearly as serious as the exams at school
