Why? Was it because you thought the contest needed over the top humor to win or something?

Yours had a sort of WAFF, a small lace of humor and a bit of wit IMPO. Also, in a way, it promoted the game itself. A rather nice combination that I think to be hard to beat.

When I look at my own entry, mines kind of bland compared to yours. Mine was Shinjiro encountering Rosarita eating in the first panel, with her offering him a sandwich in the second, recovering from whatever foreign spices the sandwich had hidden in the third and having Gemini dragging his weakened state out of bed for sword practice in the last one.

...Now all this makes me wonder that if there was a third place in this contest, then who would be the third place...Heck, I wonder who would be the top 10.

I thought of the MasterCard thing, but didn't use it because it didn't seem like it was good enough. Or I forgot. I can't remember... Seeing your comic made me remember that I was thinking of the idea at one point.

I overestimated my Visa.

But man, I wanted that art book! >.<;

I played Tales of Symphonia, and Fujishima's style really inspired me to draw.
(Guy who did the art for SW. I nailed it was him on first guess.)
