Well now with the NGP, the full port is possible, and I would say that after 4's hype is completely gone, a HD port of Disgaea 3 will happen(the NGP is basically a portable PS3 so it would be stupid to just port Disgaea 3 as it was after 4 was HD, it would be almost unplayable without A LOT of new characters and new gameplay aspects from Disgaea 4(which would basically require HD sprites and worlds anyway)).

I agree. After dropping around $80 on D3, I would need something quite a bit more upgraded to play it again lol. I've put a lot of time into it, too. lol.

I have spent the $80 as well, but I haven't really gotten too much into it yet. I am busy with Phantom Brave THT right now(such a great version of the game when it is your first time playing PB), and LP:R and D2:DHD(once the Japanese playstation store is open again).

you really should have waited and got the PSP version. The PSP version is better than the PS2 version, but the Wii version is superior to the PSP version in too many ways to be matched by the PSP version's 5 new characters.
So you are playing a better game without Zetta and the rest of the gang of five.

The Wii version has horrible controls. Something the PSP version doesn't suffer from.

I don't see how the Wii version can have horrible controls. Unless you're playing with the Wiimote, it shouldn't be any different from the PS2 controls.

I really hope there will be some sort of portable port for Disgaea 3 or even hopefully disgaea 4. I wouldn't care if it had the same exact gameplay with nothing new thrown into the mix, I can't stand being forced to sit in my room level grinding for hours when I'm pretty bored out of my mind wishing I could do some other activity. After I've beaten Baal I just stopped there with Disgaea 3. If I was able to play it on the go, it would really give me some flexibility in playing it to the fullest. At this point I have spent over 1000 hours playing Disgaea 2 Portable, 3 times more than what I've put into Disgaea 3 and Disgaea 3 has better system mechanics like the absence of weapon mastery and capping stats at 99,999,999 instead of 40,000,000.

Right now If I wanna play any Disgaea game on the console I want something to help inspire me to push harder at the cost of playing it in one spot all day, like battling other characters from different players. Disgaea 4 has accomplished getting me motivated to reach to the top of making the strongest characters thanks to their introduction of massive online components in the game, Disgaea 3 failed to do that and that's why it needs a portable port badly in my opinion.

Yes, well, you HAVE to use the Wiimote. So, yes, there are horrible controls. You can't use the classic controller or the gamecube controller.

PB on the Wii? You can certainly use the gamecube controller. Just switch it around in options.

Ah, then it was the classic controller which wasn't allowed

Just letting everyone here know that Disgaea 3 is indeed getting a port to the playstation vita, the title will indeed be Disgaea 3 returns the game is supposed to have 2 new characters as well, and the portraits are being redone to be closer to Disgaea 4, what that means I have no idea but I think we will be seeing the hd sprites on the Vita.

here are some links to the info.

That's a sure ticket for me to get the PS Vita on release date and as expected it'll hold more content than it's console brethren, NIS you really are amazing to put this much dedication for us handheld players!! :D

I'm... still torn.

If the classroom system is still there, I may stick with DHD but...

All that new content...

New scenarios...

All the DLC...

... Damn it, NIS wins again.
