Now I'm no math wiz, but from what I read here isn't ~ 37,000 bad news for NISA in regards to the Wii market. I mean how many copies were sold if Red said the PS2 sold ~3.3 - 1 Wii?

If the above is credible or factual, then isn't the Sakura Wars Wii market a disappointment? If that's the case...then unless the Wii sales pick up.....isn't that bad news for future ports of other SW games to the Wii?

Please educate me if I read the wrong info :)

The website alleges (or conveniently copies) that SW has sold the same on PS2 and Wii that Disgaea 3 did on PS3 (decent) and PB did on Wii (not particularly good), respectively. But the thing about Demon Souls in the news today says that even when a niche game sells 6 digits, their error still can be larger than 100%. Until someone leaks real numbers, the take away message is a qualitative one--that Amazon already sold through their 1st shipment, and Gamestop is getting low, too. (All but 1 store in my area is out of the Wii version.)

Don't tell me the Wii version is what people have to go on if stock completely runs out.... That's a scary prospect.

There are 3 stores in my area; 1 has the Wii version, while all 3 still have the PS2 version.

For people who have both a ps2 or backwards compatible ps3 AND a wii, which copy did they end up going with? I have both and went with the ps2 version. Seeing how it comes with more, so I assume that people went the same route I did. But if I'm understanding what you guys are saying the Wii version is selling more? Or maybe those stores just bought more copies of the ps2 version.

Probably the latter, as I'm sure not many people would go for a version that doesn't include everything. The exceptions are of course that the Wii could have been your only option, or the fact that you had both(or just wanted to support them, like Red here). They could have printed the same number of copies of both versions also, and who knows, but more people may have only had a Wii in his area, so that's another side to look at it.

Kind of worded this weirdly, but basically more Wiis and less PS2s, to be blunt, lol.

Well the ps2 is the best selling console so far, so I'm not sure it's because more people have wiis. But the ps2 is also last gen, so I'm sure a lot of people don't use their ps2s as much or at all, plus the fact that they could be broken. But maybe people who aren't in the loop just figured the latest gen would be better, or don't bother to even look at ps2 titles anymore.

I have a PS2 and a Wii, but I bought it for the Wii because I decided when I picked up Ar tonelico 2 last year, that would be my last PS2 game. The cord that plugs into the TV for my PS2 is moody (picture won't show, it flickers, colors messed up, or sound isn't as loud as it should be) if I don't arrange it a certain way and I don't feel like paying for a new cord for it. It's easier to play on the Wii for me.

I have that same problem. The PS2 was a launch model, so the cords are loose. Not that its a problem with a simple fix.

So from what Red is saying, regardless of how well this SW sells, we'll never see a localized SW 1&2 for PSP?

No, where did I say that?

It isn't the version I would want, but I'm not making the decisions, either.

My dream version would be 1 & 2 SS/DC/PC/whichever ported to a Wii disc. If they can fit both on UMD, they can put them both on a Wii disc.

You can fit 1-4 on a single dual layer DVD granted if you make a few sacrifices. ST1 would have to be the saturn version along with 2. The total size comes down to about 8.2 gigs, so it can work.

ST1 Original
ST2
ST3 Dreamcast(not sure if the PS2 version is bigger)
ST4

Last check of iso file sizes.

That would be the single greatest game disc ever. But if they would split the four between two discs, I'd be all for that, too.

Not sure how much a menu for the selection would take up if you implemented it, so your proposal of two discs would be the most economical. Though I'd like a PS3 release if possible. There wouldn't be a need to swap. :D
