Nora would still be able to be played by people that have moved onto the 3DS. And there are a TON of DS owners out there in comparison to 3DS ones right now as well, considering how well the DS did in it's lifetime!

It's partly because retailers will eventually stop putting DS games on display.

A GUST game?! This game has no reason NOT to be released here! Everyone has a DS, we all love Atelier games and this game looks surprisingly good!

I support this~ ^O^

it's not actually a Gust game, Atlus made it. i don't think Gust is even directly involved with it, although some of their former staff members or freelancers might be involved. people think it's a Gust game because it obviously borrows very heavily from the Atelier series, but it's more or a less just a homage.

Considering how much the 3DS is floundering right now, I wouldn't be so quick to write off the DS.
Heck, the amount of people who think that the 3DS is to the DS what the DSi was, (that is to say, simply an updated model, rather than a whole new console) is staggering.

If floundering means outpacing the ds in terms of hardware and software sales, and being in better position than the ds ever was........... then yes.

ANd your second point is why nintendo increased the marketing budget

After what he said I had every right to voice my displeasure in that false sentiment. And I actually look quite smart since all the numbers, positioning reports back me up. Even in the nintendo forecasts, they have predicted the 3ds will continue to outpace which is why the 3ds fiscal forcast number was higher than the first ds number.

Yes, it's doing well enough that they're cutting the price and admitting it was a mistake to charge that much for it, which also happens to break their usual rule of never making a loss on hardware. :|

i'm pretty sure it tanked sales-wise. not sure about critical reception. i think it's pretty silly that they released an Atelier ripoff around the same time a real Atelier game was released. should have timed that a little better, though there's no guarantee it would have made much difference.
