Should I play Rorona before I get Totori.?

Postby Crash15 » Tue Aug 16, 2011 7:26 am

I got Rorona on launch day and I beat the game months later but, I been playing other games after and well I am going to get Totori. So.. should I play Rorona again to get the remaining trophies until Totori releases.?

It's definitely not a bad idea. If there are games on your backlog, you could go for those as well?

You should, that's my advice. At least to the point where you get to really learn every characters' story.

Allright I'll be playing it until I get all trophies prior to launch day maybe I'll beat it sooner to get the remaining endings.

I hope I can get the ends I want before Totori comes out. It's pretty tedious, though, to the point I get distracted by internet-surfing and find myself not playing it... Like now, in fact.

Same here. I said on another topic that getting some things on Atelier Rorona seems like a chore. I got three endings and quit the game a year ago. I've tried to pick it up twice but I failed to endure.

If you're not that interested, play the game for the lulz before Totori, to have a feel about the game.

I am playing it all over again but, it will seem impossible to get the rich ending.

I hope you know your garbage comment isn't welcomed here, or at least without explanation. If your gonna hate on something, do it right.

I was also thinking of doing another play through or 2 after beating Mass Effect 2 ja.

It's a fun little game, but compared to Totori and Meruru games, it feels unpolished as a turn-based jrpg. You'll probably enjoy the sequels more. The gameplay in Rorona can be tedious if you don't plan things out correctly and getting the true ending can be as hard on your first campaign. But on a second playthrough, it gets easier because all your cash carries over on your next playthrough. All you gotta do is sell everything you have in your baskets, container and etc before the final day and see the ending. Then you start with tons of cash. Better quality items are also unlocked in your second playthrough and onward, in the shops, so it's easier to manage your days better and aim for the ending you want.

Update: I got 3 trophies I didn't get the first time I beat the game. The one that I missed again was on the festival against Sterk. I had bombs but, the weren't 120 quality they were 109. But, I made 5 saves before I started heading to the other locations. I also have the winrider It was tough but, I got it and I hope I can trigger the last flags with the characters so I can get the Astrid ending. I only need 6 more people to reach 100 friendship and most of them are at 70 and up. Wish me luck doods.

I said it was garbage because it is.

It has no plot, no villain, a game breaking time limit system, truely impossible trophies, a stupid hero, nasty friends, stupid master in Astrid and ungrateful townspeople.
The alchemy is butchered. You can't just make what the hell you like, you can't experiment beyond add new items to make it higher or use diferent items for diferent ingots.

The new game plus adds nothing new. The endings ar'nt possible apart from the normal one.
There ar'nt even bosses!!!!! The enemies in maps don't count! What kind of stupid game does'nt have bosses?!
The world or area is'nt threatened, theres no evil or not so evil person lurking, making things happen. Theres no bosses to fight, no villains at all. For frags sake, you don't even face a enemy at the end! At least have a boss at the end!
Theres no story.
Theres no mana! No mana magic power, no mana alchemy spirits!
Everything is timed or runs from your health. Why the hell would anyone ever make a system that runs from your freaking health!

Oh I know that AI1, 2 and 3 are'nt like others in the series. And a good thing too if that drivel AR is anything to go by.
I suspect that previous games were better than AR. They have got to have had more plot. Or at least more likeable heroes.

Atelier games. 8-)

I'm pretty sure the original point of them was that they weren't massive world-spanning adventures to save the world, and you're simply playing a normal person in that kind of setting, just without the looming threat of the end of the world.

And that's why the Arland games have done better than the Iris or MK games 8-)
