$925? What the shit, that's ridiculous.
And people say the USD suffers from a low value, that's just.... what the hell.

Well, in my case I didn't play it because the console is ridiculously expensive where I live (925 USD for a PS3 what the--). Had to stick to walkthroughs on YouTube ;_;

Do you live in Brazil? Because that's the PS3 price in Brazil.

Near enough, Argentina, which is next to Brazil. Worth mentioning is the fact the PS3 never got an official release in Argentina (nor did the Wii or the 360), which probably also explains the pricing (Sony never got around being able to set a proper price for it).

One of the rare cases where importing your system is actually much cheaper. ^^

We got official releases for pretty much every platform now, but everything is pretty much 400% of the original price. I bought my PS3 in Paraguay. And I do live in Brazil, so we share the same pain, pretty much.

Our dollar does seem pretty awesome in this scenario but in comparison with other "first world countries" it's pretty shabby. Hell I think even Canada's dollar is stronger than ours. (that was not an attack on any Canadians who may be browsing^^)

This, pretty much (except there's no official release in Argentina). Surprised it's an exact match of the Brazillian price though, I guess the PS3s here are imported from there, because I think that our taxes for imported electronic stuff would make it go through the roof (the price goes like 300% of its original price due to taxing for being imported, and then there are lots of extra taxes for it being electronic stuff that have been being added over time...).

None of that overtaxing applies to stuff built locally, but you know, nobody is gonna bother building consoles in South America due to piracy =P (ironically, doing that only helps making things worse because everything becomes much more expensive to get legally)

Now, extra remark, 925 USD for a PS3 may seem crazy, though not that much if you consider its original 800 USD release price worldwide. The problem is that in local currency that's 3700 pesos. Now, your average salary here is 2500-3000 pesos. I don't think I need to explain why nobody would buy a console that expensive...

Bah I don't know if I am lucky or not, but I got a Premium Edition for $74 on Ebay. It's "Like New" which means the seller gutted it for pics and that's it...right? Had better not of played my game! :evil:

"Like New" means it was played but not noticeably. Trust me, no one is dumb enough to gut a game this rare just for pics. He could've sold it for twice as much had it been sealed.

So minor playing has occurred eh? Damn. Ah well I guess I should just count myself lucky for evening getting it at all right? But the sellers description made me wonder something...did the special edition come with a soundtrack? Cause that's what comes with the one I ordered. I thought it was merely an art book with specials.

I don't know what's wrong if he played the game, data doesn't deteriorate after all =| The worst that can happen is the disc itself deteriorating, but "like new" means the disc is pretty much intact.

Lol dood. Has nothing to do a fear of data deterioration. Its just a selfish whim not to let anyone play my new stuff! :lol:

The PS3 is R$1500, and the minimum wage is R$550. Three months working to pay for a single PS3.
