Worlds always change in FF's though and there's crystals by the look of it in the trailer. Not sure if I want it to be a new IP to be honest but either way is fine. The game looks great regardless.

It's in the virtual reality card trailer with the Garnet look a like in it. There's a necklace with a crystal on it which to me looks just like crystals from newer FF's remakes.

It might just be nod to FF but I think it will be a main part of the story and not just a reference. We shall see.

a necklace? As the main part of the story? Maybe 1 in 100 times a piece of clothing can be. But I dont see the indication yet

Not the only main element of the story but I think it will play a big part. The main part at least the first half I'm guessing will be about the four playable characters becoming the four warriors of light. I'm only guessing but seeing what I've heard so far brings me to those conclusions.

Honestly I dont think 4 warriors of light will have anything to do with the game at all.

Yeah they said become a warrior of light. But that phrasing is used quite a bit in square rpgs.

Is it? maybe you're right and I just now am starting to connect it since four warriors of light came out. I can't think of any games with that phrase in there other than FF1, four warriors of light and Dissidia.
What are other games with it in there that you can remember? My memory is terrible with these things. :S

Ok no wonder I don't remember it since I've actually never played any of the Mana series yet. Been meaning to get Legend of Mana off PSN for a while now just haven't bought a PSN card in the last few month's.

also in alot of japanese games heroes are referred to warriors of light. Its almost a cliche at this point.
