So, who's the girl you are gonna go for as your favorite in your first time playing?

1. Gemini Sunrise (Southern cowgirl trying to make it big in New York) aka the main girl
2. Sagitta Weinberg (Former gang member/kickass biker chick, self made successful lawyer) aka the "manly" girl
3. Rikaritta Aries (The youngest member with a strong sense of justice and a bottomless stomach) aka the loli girl
4. Subaru Kujou (Mysterious girl(?) with a no-nonsense attitude) aka the serious girl
5. Diana Caprice (Frail, but kind woman with a love for birds and strong healing ability) aka the "healer" girl


Me? I usually go with the main girl in my first playthrough of a SW game. I did it with Sakura in 1 and 2, Erica in 3 and Gemini in V (Japanese version). So I'll probably go that route again for my first English play-through.

Heh, that would be better for us all, wouldn't it? Sadly, no, you can't. But at the lowest common denominator, you'd at the very least become a lolicon(Rika).

Well, considering there are that many girls to choose from, that's to be expected. Lumping both casts together must not have been easy to do....

I know what you mean. I was playing SW3 one time with the full intention of ending with Lobelia as my favorite... and somehow, halfway into the game, it turned into Coquelicot. Don't ask, because I'm still trying to figure that one out.

How does this choice based system work, really? I've been watching some videos of each game. Do these choices only sway the girls, but not necessarily get them to your side, or is it like an absolute thing where the points ultimately add up for the specific girl and ending?

Basically, the point system with each girl depends on the following (it differs slightly between each game):

1. Answers chosen. Good answers obviously give good points, and bad answers the opposite.
2. Mini-game performance. Impress the girls with your skills in the games they have you take part in.
3. Performance in battle. How you work together with each member can also provide "points".
4. Protect your team. If you use the protect option during battle where it automatically prevents a member from taking an attack, you get points for that, too. Although, Orihime doesn't approve of you protecting her early in SW2 (at least I don't think you get points for that).

At some point in the game, say around chapter 8 or 9, you are given the choice of the top 3 girls in your "points" tally. I don't think you can even try to chose the others not in your top 3. But usually before that choice, you get the option to date any of the girls, giving you a chance to skyrocket your points with any of the girls.

I've always noticed, they have to keep the cast of characters consistent with the game... it's like they're always going to have a tsundere for example, or more prominently shown, always a girl who pretty much screams loli.

Yeah, they always seem to try and have as wide variety as possible to please as many fans as possible with their specific interests.

The "main/leader" girls - Sakura, Erica, Gemini
The "manly" girls - Kanna, Maria, Lobelia, Sagitta
The "kid" girls - Iris, Coquelicot, Rikaritta
The "quiet" girls - Hanabi, Diana
The "mysterious" girls - Reni, Subaru
The "prideful" girls - Sumire, Glycine, Orihime
(some of them can be considered for more than one category, though)

Ratchet and Kohran seem to be two of the few somewhat unique characters in the series.

And of course, every one of them has some dark moment in their past that will have to be dealt with at some point in the game in that character's specific chapter.
