Who knows what disgaea infinite is about is it the the fourth installment to the series?

Not really. It's more of a spinoff visual novel that seems to happen at the same time as the original story. Maybe an AU.

So its focusued more on the story than the usual gameplay thats a new idea. Anyway way just seen the japanese trailers and it look so cool depending on your choices you can change the story it looks so funny I hope it gets imported to the US

i'm getting disgaea3 as soon as i decide to get a ps3. unfortunately i have not enough time to play the other disgaea games but this one looks interesting. maybe i get it later. Prinny:CIRBTH has a higher priority

In this case, since it seems to involve all the characters from the original Disgaea, it would probably help a lot, otherwise you won't know who is who. (I imagine they will introduce them for new people, but still, seems like the fun part of the game is seeing those characters again).
