This came dangerously close to being a bastard game, in my opinion.
Like, Vanilla-Bastard.

If it wasn't going to actually be Vanilla, I, as a player, would like to know =.=

It wasn't the plan from the beginning...

And if I told people flat out, that would have ruined it. The whole point was the mystery. I wanted the experience where people turn on each other, even though they're all innocent actually. Something that mafia games don't really allow, since there's always everyone established as mafia from the beginning.

You probably would have liked the original plan. Which was just to have the Serial killer be a timed role. Everything else would be the exact same.

Sorry again, my mind got carried away.

Just curious if anyone out there found it interesting?

That's pretty rude...
You do know EO acts in character right?

He acts like this even when he is freaking SK, it's just how he plays mafia, plus I am cohost of his game... that would be a freaking insult. D:

And it was vanilla quit whining about it, everyone who has whined about it really didn't pay attention to roles. Seven vanilla, that majority, get over it.

Personally I loved the game, didn't care for my role, and I was too trusting... but those are personal complaints.. nothing wrong you did as far as I'm concerned ~

I'm saying that I didn't like the game being called Vanilla all the way until the end. If you changed your mind, you didn't have to tell everyone that they (or some of them) had timed roles. You could just say that the game isn't so vanilla after all.

He's co-host here, you didn't pay attention, he plays into character, not a specific character... his own type of sadism comes through regarding mafia. Have you not noticed?

And it was Vanilla, simple as that. 7/12 were vanilla, I wouldn't say have FIVE power roles isn't vanilla, that's just stupid.

I have to agree with Mizu, I would consider this a vanilla game. I don't see how time activated abilities made it any less vanilla.

Hmmmm. I was really hoping I would be offed in some way so I could say something around the lines of "Hey, did someone call a doctor... oh, I died" or something like that. Oh well.

I have my own ideas for a game of mafia when the time finally comes my way yes.

@Jericho
It was vanilla in terms of roles, well, MOSTLY.

And, again, if I told people they had time roles, where would the surprise/confusion be? Mafia's a game about thinking, and deducing. Yet, forum mafia (at least here) has largely pushed out much of the thinking aspect. And replaced it with stuff like cheating the game, or taking advantage of mechanics. Not really working to find out the identity of someone, or finding holes in their logic. Logic wasn't completely lost, just lacking in a lot of areas.

So, I devised this. Originally, the only surprise was to be the SK. I can't even remember which character it was supposed to be, but I would basically tell the person in a PM 'Romeo doesn't love you he loves Juliet'. and then explain how they snapped and would start becoming a serial killer.

But, it started expanding from there. And i felt I was deviating too far from the Slice of Life theme having that. So, it kept on changing and changing until it became what you went through.

I didn't change it to this mid-game. I was fully aware of what I was going to do by the time the game had started that's why I had the copy-paste roles.

Also, I left a clue. A pretty glaring one I might add. Still wondering if anyone else caught it?

I can see that you don't seem to like surprises. That makes me a bit sad. Surprises are pretty amazing.

I also don't like that term. I wasn't trying to be a jerk to anyone. I just wanted to provide a unique experience for everyone, without fully abandoning the vanilla flavor.

@others
What did you think of it though? Was it too radical?

Eh.

It's a little bit off topic, but I finally started using MSN again.

If any cool people want to add a weirdo then my msn is

@Vampko - I liked your game, even if I died day one. To be honest, if I lived past day one, I probably wouldn't have been able to help much, because I was completely sure Red was town.

Miz is right~ I only act like this when playing Mafia. I've done this ever since I was outed as SK in my first game. It was EXTREMELY fun to do this as a Miller last game~ Hahaha~

...seriously though Jeri. You better play my game. Otherwise, I'm totally not playing yours, like ever~ And you know. Considering we're now missing Clay, Necro, Quill, Bloo, Shiz, and Pringles, we NEED as many players as possible.

And I agree with Miz about the vanillanessocity too. You say you didn't LIKE the twists in this game? Guess what Jeri. I didn't like some of the twists in your game, such as the fact that I could of lived, and I wasn't informed. Just like some people weren't informed their roles THIS game. See the simularity? Mwehe~ I thought you would~

And this one is toward Vamp~

I was just a spectator as Co-Host, but I quite enjoyed it~ It was interesting and unique~ A nice twist, if you ask me.

Sure... in game, but he (and anyone else) better be prepared to be taken seriously after the game is over.

*facepalm*
Take a look at a standard game's vanilla mechanics, then this one. The number of vanilla roles didn't matter, in so far as classification.

It was my fault I wanted to go out with a bang because I had no idea there was some HIDDEN MECHANIC NOBODY KNEW ABOUT?

-I say it because it's true.
A hidden mechanic that's in an experimental game? Not the first time that's happened.
Play carefully if you know that the game's experimental.

-Apparently not this time, but that was rather rude, just now.

Regardless, you're the ONLY ONE complaining about how "un-vanilla" this game was. The. Only. One. And I still fail to see how it was my fault if NOBODY knew about it, and it wasn't even HINTED at.

Rather rude? I don't give a damn. That's who I am. I tell you exactly what I think. What I think is that you're whining right now. /shrug
It can't be too hard to change my opinion on that, now can it?
And I did read your post. Just because you don't like what I said, doesn't mean that you can say that I didn't. You have no proof that I didn't. M'kay?

Now, what do you say we stop flooding this with our pointless bickering?

Again, if I stated there was something up with the game flat out, it wouldn't have worked out as well. The entire point was to surprise people.

And I actually probably had the most vanilla SK and Godfather. Considering the SK/Godfather both didn't turn up 'innocent' automatically. And only one of the godfather's was able to take a night kill. And it was only once. The SK had no protection in that realm.

And, again, there was a clue placed for everyone to see. I figured someone would read it and notice that it was an odd choice of numbers, or that something was off about it.
