Is it just me or is it impossible to find a Disgaea fan other than yourself in the real world? There seems to be thousands of fans online, but every time someone and I get into a conversation about video games they haven't even heard of it! My cousin told me that his friend (a crazy masochist kid) is a Disgaea fan, but I haven't met him. Is it just me or is this common phenomena?

I'd say it's a pretty common phenomena . Unless you go to a anime convention or a midnight Gamestop release thing it will be very rare to meet another Disgaea fan . No one really talks about Disgaea in real life unlike the internet.

I wouldn't know if there are people who like disgaea around me ,I don't talk to people about things like videogames in real life.

It isn't anything to be ashamed of. I don't think people would look down on anyone for saying they play a video game. I'm not 100% sure, but I think playing video games is pretty common. Of course there's that chance the conversation would go like this:

Non-Disgaea Player: Man, I was up playing Black Ops all night last night. Imma fail this test.
Disgaea Player: Me too. I was up playing Disgaea.
Non-Disgaea Player: Dis-whata?
Disgaea Player: Disgaea.
Non-Disgaea Player: Wtf is that?!
Disgaea Player: A video game about demons, angels, and humans and how they interact with each other. It's really entertaining and funny. The 4th wall breaking can get a little old sometimes, but for the most part it's really good.
Non-Disgaea Player: What's 4th wall breaking?
Disgaea Player: It's hard to explain...it's when the characters know they're in a video game...I guess.
Non-Disgaea Player: No thanks. I'd prefer if they didn't know. It would ruin my mood.
Disgaea Player: (Oh no! Now I feel like everyone will say this and make me like a fool. I shall refrain from speaking about Disgaea ever again.)

I can understand that. The topic of video games doesn't pop up with every conversation. Maybe that's why I haven't found anyone yet.

The alternative is of course to convert people to Disgaea, which I've successfully done in about three cases, one of which went on to convert someone else they knew.

Disgaea isn't a well-known series in the overall picture, so finding fans of it may be a little tricky.

Well I know it isn't anything to be embarrassed about ,but most gamers just talk about FPS games or MMOs if they're talking about anything to do with video games . I probably should have worded my sentence a bit better in the original post XD .

What I should have said is no one really talks about Disgaea in real life unlike the internet .

I've done that too! At least I'm trying anyway. Two of my cousins know about Disgaea, but don't play it. It was funny because like two weeks ago my cousin (the same one with the Disgaea masochist friend) goes, "You know Disgaea 4 is coming out?" I was like, "It's been out...since September..." But at least he's trying. My other cousin is dumb, but he's able to know Disgaea when he sees it.

I've also taught my best friend (who hates video games) about Prinny. Whenever she sees a Prinny she'll be like, "Prinny!"

People that talk about FPS are usually very bad in strategy games. People who talk about MMOs me laugh because I have no idea what they're talking about.

"I totally slayed a Chingachingachong with my level 69 Dark Elf Paladin of Death with only using a Volcano Spear and a Tolongula Bomb." It always entertains me though so I don't mind.

I've met one person who I've been able to convert into a Disgaea fan who was already into Japanese games. Everyone else is like "That's stupid anime shit CoD is so much better."

Well, the ones I converted weren't exactly against the idea, but neither were they big players of JRPGs.

Well majority of people that play CoD do feel that way. Actually, a majority of Americans feel that way too. Maybe 52%-ish. The remaining 48% are full of people that don't care, but don't play; play but keep it a secret for they're scared people will look down on them and call them nerds; and crazy Otakus that throw cards at people and scream, "I activate my trap card!" causing people to look down on anime-like video games.

Probably because people are into that CoD crap...no offence to anyone that likes CoD though.

You know what CoD sucks and anyone that likes it better than NIS America games should take offence. I hate FPS it is really boring to me.
