I appreciate the effort, but isn't or wouldn't it be easier for people to just click through the various pages of Random Chat to find this info?

If you want to highlight certain threads for a good read or whatever reason, then I'd like/support that

@Shiz: I'd like to be thorough, but I only have so much time. Also, this thread is supposed to be helpful. Meaningless threads would clog it of course. This is where feedback comes in. What would you guys like me to list? How would you like me to measure importance? (example: leave out threads to get attention/ask questions/ etc.?)

I'm not sure, that's up to you I guess. I know it's boring for me, and all the threads run together when I look at them. And people making new threads might not wanna go through all the pages looking to see if it already exists (like a newcomer's thread for example). If you guys think how it is is easy enough, then I won't finish this, simple as that. Feedback is needed.

I could do that. Who else thinks that's best?

I think this could prove to be harmful for those that won't notice how old those topics are and probably bump them for no good reason.

I figure it could also be used to find old threads/posts that you wanna look at for some reason. Not just for new topics/ a thread to post in. It's basically for finding stuff, I suppose. Or perhaps if you wanna read an important thread from before; you don't hafta use it for bumping. *shrugs*

But if that's a major concern you guys have, then yeah I don't hafta finish this, like I said.

edit: You guys can leave messages for feedback on what you think and stuff, but just so you know, I has to sleep now~ Goodnight. =]

Don't be disheartened by two people's comments. I think it's an interesting idea if:

1. You don't mind doing all the grunge work (I'm not interested in making a synapse/cliff notes of Random, sorry).
2. It highlights key threads (long post count, interesting discussion, funny events, etc...) instead of posting a list of all the threads made.

You should wait to see what others think. Maybe Ubi or Kipdog would be interested in some capacity.

@lopez: I am not disheartened in the least; I am sorry if I gave that impression.
1) It's not that difficult to do in spurts. I can work on it when I'm bored at work or something and have nothing to do.

2) That is my intention. I simply had to start somewhere though. And I am counting on feedback on what's important. Because I am obviously not going to actually read these threads to see which are interesting. xD
3) I am waiting. I only posted a few to start off; I'm not going to finish any time soon~ I hope Kipdog will be. Then he'd post for once instead of lurking! =O

Came back 'cause I thought of something. If you guys think a thread doesn't need to be on the list 'cause it isn't important, ya'll can tell me and I can just take it off the list. =)

Hmmmmmmmm, well most of the concerns regarding this thread have been addressed in one way or another. Recording history can be tricky, as in certain cases there may not be any definitive filter for determining which events are significant and which are simply superfluous.

Anyway, here is a list of what I personally would consider significant threads. I gave a theme to each era, beginning with the first era with which I am familiar. Note that some important threads probably have been neglected by me and possibly some insignificant threads have been included. Do with this what you will.

And I'm putting it in mah siggy (because it's bound to be buried by the mighty flow of topics that are Random Chat).

If a thread shouldn't be there or a good thread is missing, please let me know so I can do something about it ~
Same goes for any errors.
Any kind of additional suggestions are appreciated.

If anyone is still worried I wasted my time, don't be. I did this during those boring times at work when the only thing left to do is watch Netflix on a Wii but that makes me feel lazy, so I edit this while doing so. So basically, it was either be bored or be bored and possibly slightly productive while watching Netflix.

So even if it isn't used much or anything, I don't mind.
I'll be updating it over time and stuff.
