Considering that the melodious entity was instrumental in killing zatrox, it is highly unlikely that they were both in the mafia; hopefully, you are correct that we have one more day.

It was just too good to pass up...

It was a dark and seemingly calm night on the streets of London. Mel, a regular working girl who moved to London after a falling out with her mother Sanzo, was out late that night. She wanders out of a boutique and onto a stone cobble walkway. A nice man tips his hat to the lady and passes her without a second glance. As she turns the corner to the street leading to her tiny apartment, she realizes that they gave her too much change. Being the fair and noble citizen she is, she decides to head back and correct this mistake. She heads along the same path to the boutique and heads inside. She notices the friendly man who tipped his hat to her earlier as he smiles at her entrance. He is already paying at the counter with what can only be describes as one of the most statement making, glimmering necklaces in the shop. As she waits she can't help but to make a comment on such an exquisite piece.

"You must have someone special in mind for such a beautiful necklace." She says, face gleaming with innocence.

The man, knowing the truth behind those eyes, smiles and replies. "Oh she is. But can I ask a favor of you?"

Mel nods as the ever helpful young lady that she is.

"I'm not sure if this necklace is too long for my wife's neck and I want it displayed up near her face, so that the sapphires in the necklace offset her eyes. Would you mind trying this on so I can determine if it needs a few links taken out? You look about her size."

"Not at all!" Mel felt like a lucky lady to be able to try on such a necklace and help out a gentleman on his quest to make another women smile.

They do the dance of determining the necklaces best length and when the decision is made the man offers to walk her home and he tells her that she can wear the necklace until they reach her place. Beaming with excitement, Mel accepts.

After some idle chit chat they end up on Mel's doorstep. Mel reluctantly starts to unfasten the necklace from around her neck, but the man gently grabs her wrists. "It looks much too beautiful on you. I can't bare to see it part from your neck. Keep it." He tells her in a sweet seductive voice.

"Oh I couldn't." She begins to mumble on. "What about your wife? I just couldn't."

"She has enough lovely things and I surprise her enough. I want you to have this. It seems like you could use a little sparkle."

She reluctantly accepts after a few more "I couldn'ts", but the gentleman's kindness wins her over. He tips his hat to the lady and wanders down the road to his undisclosed location.

Mel heads into her building when she notices the door to her apartment ajar, however she is in such a good mood she thinks nothing of it. She lays her bag down on the table and gets ready for her nightly routine of a hot bath and a good book. Getting out of the tub she heads to her bedroom and climbs into bed. Before settling in she notices a shadow in the corner that looks out of place. As she continually stares she notices a pair of eyes gleaming towards her. Her jaw drops and she makes attempt to scream, but it's too late. He covers her mouth and injects something in her arms from a syringe. She feels her body becoming heavy and her eyes slowly flicker shut. The last thing she remembers thinking was that this was a man that she has never seen before. Then her body falls limp in his arms.

Days pass. A block down the road at a local strip club, Mel's regulars begin to wonder where she has gone. They begin asking the manager, but he knows nothing of her whereabouts. Finally her body is discovered in her apartment lying in her bed in a provocative position with her throat slashed. Beside her lay a shopping bag from a local jewelry store. Around her neck, caked in blood, lay a locket. The inscription reads "I love you mommy. Forever will i be your little girl. Love Melody."

Night fell once again on this small town in the netherworld. Whatever survivors were left were all huddled in the town square waiting for the outcome of the night. Everyone was too scared to sleep. Was this the end for them?

Ubi had nodded off for some time. He awoke with a shake to notice that he was the only one around. Where had all the townies gone? He thought to himself. He started searching around calling out everyone's name in a panic. He searched alleyways and knocked on the townies' doors to all that still had survived. But he found no one. He walked to the edge of the town leading into the woods in defeat. That's when he heard it. People! He hadn't lost them after all. There were people still alive. He rushed to the sound of their voices only to halt in horror of what he saw before him. There on the ground laid Dodge's mangled body. He was almost unrecognizable except for his family crest shown dimly caked in blood upon a ring on his finger.

Two figures approached him then. They were cloaked and it was dark. Ubi panicked as he tried to figure out were these friend or foe. Was it the overlord and the last remaining townie? Or was it the two left mafia members. He thought it was best not to let this drag on any longer demanding them to reveal themselves. Without hesitation they took off their hoods and reveal their sharp Prinny beaks dripping with dodge's blood. There stood before Ubi was Lopez and Crono. The two Mafia members still alive and well.

This game of Mafia has ended. If you all would like to continue with a new game and different people in different rolls let me know. If someone else would like to be the narrator for the next time let me know too.

The sting of failure from my ultimate decision makes the story's conclusion a thing of beauty; keeping me alive until the end was a wonderful way to mock my ineptitude. My incompetence is solely responsible for the demise of my friends: zatrox, spoon, melody, dodge. For this I am truly sorry...

I will not be able to participate in the next game since I will likely be gone for the entirety of next week. I can however provide the townie success rate given a game of X townies and Y mafioso with the option of doctor until late friday (my simulation does exist, it was not a ploy).

If I did kill crono, Sir Lopez would likely kill dodge, then in the final day, convince melody to kill me. True, there would have been a chance to convince melody otherwise. I could reason that of the two killed, zatrox was innocent, because the set of people who either opposed or was opposed by zatrox contain all who remained; thus, crono was a mafioso. Perhaps melody could be convinced to turn on Sir Lopez considering his actions in day 2. Though Sir Lopez does have a silver tongue, particularly with respect to melody.

Melody did play into Lopez hands and at a point I did think that Crono was going to be gone. When lopez tied it that should have been your give away, but in the end the Mafia outsmarted you guys. Btw Mel was the doctor and the one chance she had to save someone she picked a mafia member

Well Ubi you were the original target for the night phase and not dodge, but since you voting for Mel saved me I went for dodge thus letting you be the only survivor. I thought lopez might have to fend for himself since I seemed to be the favored one to go down if the votes were going to be a tie, ah well it was fun.

Any way you slice it, the odds will always be stacked against the townies. Anyhoo, this game of mafia turned out to be pretty successful, and I'd be game for another round of backstabbing.

I very much enjoyed the way in which the game turned out. According to my simulations, 19 townies against 2 mafioso slightly favors the townies.
