In Bakemonogatari, the story centers on Koyomi Araragi, a third year high school student who has recently survived a vampire attack, and finds himself mixed up with all kinds of apparitions: gods, ghosts, myths, and spirits. However, in Nisemonogatari, we pick up right where we left off and follow Koyomi as the psychological twists delve deeper and deeper…

Ah yes, this was the reason I decided to watch Bakemonogatari, and I'm so glad that I did. Episode 1 was awesome, if not a little too easy going. I enjoyed it nonetheless.

Koyomi and Senjougahara! I just love her abusive words. Something tells me that she’s actually protecting Koyomi from something or someone. I guess the whole act is a bonus.

Hachikuji’s conversations with Koyomi in this episode were pretty amusing.

But most importantly, the weird head tilts, ‘black screen’s, signage, and the effective usage of colour are all back! That just reminds me why I love SHAFT’s work ~

HorribleSubs just rips from simulcasts, so you should be praising the simulcast instead. There was a lot less signage in Nise1 than in Bake1, though, so I wonder how they'll do when SHAFT gets more... SHAFTy.

I too enjoyed the return to the Araragi Harem! I did find it interesting that the character of the arc, Karen, hasn't actually made an appearance yet. Won't stop me from watching the show, though!

Yeah, I just found that out, and edited my post. Seriously though, I didn't expect CR to do such a great job. Aye, there were a lot less ‘black/red/yellow screen’s, too. I'm guessing it's mainly because this episode was so easy going?

I have to say; it's in cases like these that I enjoy harems, mainly due to the fact that Koyomi and Hitagi are a couple. While she didn't make an appearance.. I think Hitagi

made a reference to her when she was talking about bees. Karen Bee is the name of this arc. Plus, didn't she say something about protecting him? I guess that could also tie in with what Hachikuji said about Koyomi's family getting involved with all this supernatural stuff.

Just grasping at straws, really.

Should probably note:

To all potential viewers who haven't seen Bakemonogatari, while the contents of both shows are more or less untied to the plot, the character interactions and references will make much more sense if you've seen Bake. You *can* watch Nisemonogatari without having seen Bakemonogatari, but it'd be like watching season 2 of an anime before having seen season 1 (Index 1 & 2, Shana 1 & 2, Code Geass vs. R2, etc.).

Anyways, I'll be watching this and Bakemonogatari soon (by 'soon' I mean whenever I get the chance to sit and watch an episode, which won't be happening for a while ). Still haven't even managed to finish Kanamemo or the Clannad After Story.

The monolog in this anime is amazing, you know its an awesome anime when you can listen to 24 minutes of talking and enjoy it xD
