Zetta!

Postby Kuroshitsuji » Thu Jan 12, 2012 6:37 pm

I'm well into the postgame of Disgaea 4, steamrolling through nearly every stage, but I've come to an absolute standstill. I'm stuck!

The difference in power level between the Asagi fight and the Zetta fight is enormous, even though its only one person, I've reincarnated my val many times over, (my main) , and he's barely doing about 1000k to Zetta. He's also only having about 40% chance to hit him. What do?

Difficulty spikes? In a Disgaea game? Nonsense!

Anyway, I can only dispense with the general tips, which are to level weapons as well, as the bonuses will get quite huge at higher levels. Experimenting with magichange might help here too. If you're having trouble hitting him, the usual tactics of flanking him apply (as you have a minimum of 40% to hit from the sides and 80% from the rear).
Of course, another tactic is make sure you steal as much of Zetta's equipment as possible, as that will knock him down a peg or two (and let you keep the stuff).

I'll share my tactic with you on beating Zetta:

1: I used a combined Desco/Reaper and surrounded it with units, then bombarded Zetta the first turn to wipe out his SP. If it didn't wipe out all his SP in one move, take out a sacrifice to hold Zetta for a turn, then repeat the attack next turn to finish off the SP damage. (Make sure to turn away from Desco so Zetta's back is turned.)

2: Surround no-SP Zetta with high Def units and Defend like crazy (Even better if your unit has an evility that will affect Zetta while next to him too. The Succubus comes to mind.) Pair this up with long-range units (Preferably magic casting due to Zetta's high Def) and bombard like crazy. If you have a few units as part of Heart Cannon, you can try and make use of them too here to build up combo on Zetta as it will take a while to whittle him down.

3: Zetta will try and attack your defending units. You want to make sure your units are Defending so they get less counter-attacks since Zetta's overpowering attacks will make short work of your characters if they get into a counter-fest with him. In this case if you're having HP issues, have a Healer or anyone who can heal at the ready to keep your Defenders alive. The healer will likely run out of SP during this lengthy fight, but if you use items you can keep their SP going, or you can have a secondary healer to swap out.

Alternatively, there's a few other tricks you can use too to make short work of Zetta:

- Build up a Healer to Tier 5 to give them Death's Heal, which does damage with Healing Magic. Take out Flonne to double its effect with Love Field. Surround the healer with 4 units to heighten the effect even further and cast Tera Heal on Zetta from afar, it will do incredible amounts of damage to Zetta.

- Build up a Roc (Basilicrow, Foolfool, etc.) and make sure it has high Defense, move it next to Zetta and has a few of its stat-dropping evilities on it. This will not only Silence Zetta (Meaning he can't use his specials, therefore avoiding the whole need to wipe out his SP) but will also apply any other effects that it has. You can do the same thing with the Succubus for an even stronger effect.

Trying to match Zetta Power for Power is suicide, the best thing to do is to use the heart cannon tactic

Hey thanks for posting that.
I used that tactic after managing to steal from him and tossing him away with the professor's skill and really helped!

Spoiler:
He'll be at level 4000 without any SEBs passed but will have some 21million hp.

Just bring some characters that can hit hard and can lower his stats.

I know it's just I am not to good with the whole "item leveling" thing. I probably just need to make like 3 more dragons and reincarnate 6 times because their stats are pretty good.

Lowering his stats with Shaman or Succubi are also great strategies, anything to drop his overpowering stats into the toilet while your own units pound on him.

Or, if you have 1 good character who can do good damage to hit, lure him to your base panel and do the lift-and-end-turn trick.

After some time, I thought about my possible choices to defeat Zetta, I chose to level up my items.
Now I have a badass Claiomh Solais, and I made short work of the Badass Overlord, and im not too far off from beating Pringer X. :D
