Changing the way the spoiler bar looks?

Either way, we REALLY need a way so that if we quote a post, we don't see the spoiler while we're making our post. That's something I think we all agree on.

Oh yeah, that got me before. I clicked the heck out of there once I realized I was reading what was spoilered.

I don't think your suggestion would be possible, though, seeing as how when you make a post you're seeing the tags surrounding the text and its effects are only shown in the post itself. Uhh, did what I say make sense?

Yeah, it's not something you can do, as it has to be displayed somewhere.
You just have to avoid quoting posts with spoilers you don't want to know about, which is unhelpful I know but I don't think there's anywhere around that.

This is what I found first when searching around. Since my programming knowledge is zero and this was easy to implement, we'll use this from now on unless/until people demand we go back to the old version or give me an equally easy way to change it to something else.

Hmm, well it's not how I imagined it.

The way I imagined is basically like the old version: It's just that it doesn't have the words "Spoiler Alert highlight to view" and the spoiler doesn't begin on a new line. So basically if you spoiler something it would be something like this (pretend the text in green is instead the black spoiler bar). Note how my paragraph keeps going seamlessly without being cut into a new line.

The way spoilers work now it actually makes things worse than before if you only want to cover up a few words. (See my most recent post in the Fate/Extra General Thread for an example). I didn't know it could spoiler images though, so I guess it has some use.

Believe me, if it had taken more than a few minutes of googling and a direct copy-paste of someone else's code, it wouldn't have been. Not that we don't want you guys to be happy, but we seriously don't have any kind of dedicated staff to make technical mods/changes to the forums.
