Oh, right. That's what these were; a technically useless item used for various bits of fashion and fun, right? Or... that's what the knowledge implanted into her was saying. That's right. Clothing. Aagh. Maybe it was because she'd just woken up that she was forgetting some of the most basic things? The rest of the information was sure to come to her soon. Nero shook her head vigorously and slapped her cheeks a few times before pulling on the additional garments and heading out the main door. Part of her wanted to check over the rest of the facility, but... well... it wasn't likely there was even anything in particular left. Any food would be long gone, and other things probably weren't going to be very modern in this world. Goodness knew that human technology hadn't stopped angels and demons before. The girl let out a bit of a sigh as she stretched and began moving forward.

In order to protect it from bombing runs, casual detection and infiltration, and the weather, the entire facility had been constructed fairly deep underground. It ultimately seemed to have worked, but for now she'd have to find a way up to the surface... or at least find somewhere she could examine evidence and try to figure out what to do. Nero exhaled slightly and tried to focus her thoughts. Right...

She could attempt to try and find a city (or some sort of settlement). If she worked to blend in, it probably wouldn't be too hard, and cities had a lot of information.

On the other hand, her knowledge base was extremely pointed about the fact that she had absolutely no idea what the conditions were like outside the laboratory. For all she knew, there was a major war going on up there, still, and even stepping outside could be extremely dangerous. So she could hunt around the area and try to find somebody to talk to in order to try and minimize exposure and risk before truly revealing herself.

Or she could be a little more violent about it, of course. There was merit to caution, after all, and knocking them out and trying them up, then interrogating them when they woke up, might actually be the safest course of action considering that she had no idea what the environment was really like. What to do...

Well, nothing ventured meant nothing gained. Nero closed her eyes briefly, then held up her weapons and carefully examined them to make sure they were in working order. She could probably handle at least one demon if it turned into a fight after all. And if she couldn't even manage to take down one demon that she chose to approach, then her entire mission was hopeless to start with, so it wouldn't make much of a difference. Nodding, the girl set off, heading through the long tunnels that twisted and turned.

Three days later, she finally found someone. Sitting by a campfire was a humanoid demon; they existed, though they made up only about half of the demons around. It was neither surprising nor normal to see one, really. This one was particularly humanoid, though, with fluffy little ears and a white tail that was slowly twitching back and forth as the girl stared at the fish cooking above the fire.

Nero coughed slightly, and her eyes widened as the catgirl whirled around and, in one moment, shot across the area and slammed into her, knocking Nero into the wall and flipping around to sit on her face. "Who's there-nya!?" the girl asked, nails popping out for a ready weapon in case she needed it. "Mm! Mmmm!" Nero, unfortunately, was in no position to talk, not with someone covering her mouth like that. She inhaled what air she could, then kicked her legs up and crossed them in front of the catgirl's neck. One of her guns jabbed into the catgirl's side as the demon's claws hovered half an inch from Nero's eyes.

...Quite an awkward situation to be in.

"Nyyyyyyyrr..." the catgirl eyed Nero for a moment, then sniffed her. "You smell... yummy..."

In hindsight, maybe it WOULD have been better to shoot first and take prisoners. This... didn't feel like one of the most powerful demons around, but it had pinned Nero so easily. Aargh. Very slowly, she pulled the gun away from the demon and set it on the ground, doing her best to seem as non-confrontational as possible. She unhooked her legs a moment later. "Mm, mmm mm mmmm." Her voice was still muffled, but she could at least give some very calm inflection. The catgirl looked at her for one more moment (well, what she could see of Nero, anyway, which actually wasn't all that much since she was sitting on Nero's head), then got off of her and took a few skips backwards.

It was about then that the demon's eyes flicked to the right... then the left... then the right again as Nero waved a long, thin stalk (previously part of a plant of some kind) that she'd picked up. It was long and sturdy, if starting to turn a bit brown, but more importantly... cat toy. "Here, kitty. Good kitty." Nero said softly as she moved it back and forth. "I'm gonna get you-nya!" the catgirl darted forward, somersaulting and vaulting into the air before crashing down towards Nero and the toy. Grinning, Nero darted to the side, waving the toy cheerfully as she began to run around the area. The catgirl didn't hesitate at all to give chase and began to scamper after her, completely lost in the thrill of the hunt.
