It's probably a case of announcing many things early to generate buzz. Their marketing/strategy chief came from Square Enix, and while there may or may not be any correlation, you can certainly find parallels (I'm referring to 2005-2007 Square Enix, not pre-merger Square or post-RPG Square Enix/Eidos).
- titles announced early, usually during major events
- lots of sequels, remakes, and spin-offs.
- an increasing focus on RPG gameplay and console/handheld releases
- uncertain release schedules
Utawarerumono 2 and Tears to Tiara 2 could be a long way off. Nevertheless, they have that To Heart stuff to tide their fans over.
