Depending on the game, the 3D looks good. The headache thing is person to person, so there isn't an exact answer.
The 3DS had a price drop already.
Yes you can play normal DS games in it.

I hope that girl in the black and white dress is the main character. It would be interesting to have a female protagonist, especially since Square-Enix seem almost afraid of girls at times.

It won't be a deal-breaker for me if she's not the MC, but it would definitely lose interest points. Not that I'm getting a 3DS anytime soon.
