@Lopez: Altair's armor is awesome~ I was expecting to just get his armor from the original game and was pleasantly surprised.

My biggest criticism of the series is the writing for the present day scenes feels poorly written, but I'm more accepting of the way the series is designed now though, since I'm invested in the plot.

Yeah, the Desmond side of the story sucks. It doesn't really go anywhere until Revelations and even then I wasn't impressed...

I consider Desmond to be the splash of cold water from time to time. In all of the unreal activities going on, he's sort of like an everyday guy that comes in from time to time. Out of a lot of the characters, I'd say he's the most real to me.
Then again, that almost makes him a little boring too. It's hit or miss. I don't mind him though.

The other present day people are pretty forgettable aside from Shaun.

@Lopez and Jericho:
I don't mind Desmond himself too much, but all the other characters in the modern day are very fake seeming and the writing is painful to listen to at times. Especially the swearing... I have no problem with language at all, but watching some of those scenes brings me back to watching anime dubs from the late 80's/early 90's where they'd add in the swearing just so it seemed "mature".

If they're going to have it in the script, at least try to make it not sound like it was added afterwards.

He's comes off as a complete tool, in every sense of the word. Some of that is obviously intentional, but Ubisoft could've given him more depth. Hopefully he evolves in ACIII

I loved AC2. Every single aspect that they could have improved on going from AC to AC2, they did, and did it well. Kinda stopped playing Brotherhood midway and I have a lot of catching up to do now that Revelations is out and AC3 is well under way.

And yeah, getting the all the feathers (even with a guide) was a total bitch but I did it anyway. I like to plat games I thoroughly enjoyed.
