Wow that was quick, thanks for the rec's! Hyperdimension Neptune and mk2 is something I've been tempted by several times before, but I've only heard bad reviews for it. I'll have to look more into it!

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and stuff, but I just think just about all FF games is a bit much, considering their recent decline in... everything...
I recommend a good 'ol visual novel over this; Demonbane and stuff like that.

If you're going into them with a biased opinion just because it has Final Fantasy on the cover then that's probably why you don't enjoy the newer ones. :?

I say almost every FF, because frankly I can't think of one that I wouldn't consider a good game. Perhaps not what made FF great, but still good games. Even X-2 I still thought was decent although it's the worst to me of the newer FF's.

That's my take on it anyway. ;)

Sorry, I might have been a bit difficult to understand like I always am. I meant the fact that their recent games have been lacking (FF13-2 was a terrible idea, it took Tales of Symphonia 2 [which was already a terrible game, by the way] and mixed it with their already pretty... broken... system). It's become obvious over the years for those who observe the company, that Square Enix has been caring more about the quantity and the money that their games are going to milk in rather than the quality of the game. Hopefully in the future, they will get an amazing dev. team like the one for Type-0 and fix it in the future.

I'll admit I am also not a big fan of the recent FF titles, X was okay but I did not enjoy XII or XIII, to quote a PATV series I watch, Extra Credits, the FF series is one of the biggest culprits in focusing too much in enhancing the graphics and forgetting what (most) JRPG fans enjoy the genre for - the characters and story.

FF6 and FF9 were my favourites of that series. :)

Like I said, just go buy a visual novel.

@Kota: Haven't bought XIII-2 yet, but I have played XIII, so I know what to expect with the battle system. I agree that Square-Enix has gotten bloated as a company and they need to start working to get quality games every time like Square used to be able to produce~ I still find their new games fun, but they have noticeable flaws. :)

@Reth: They're not for everyone, I guess. I agree that they focus too much on graphics.

XIII-2 is basically Tales of Symphonia 2 with NO extra playable characters, with milking DLC costumes, and XIII's battle system.

He complains about the pervasive elements of the very games he suggested.
