Help with raising Lily ranks

How do the Lily ranks work exactly? How much do they go up when a person is in battle with you and do they need to actually win the battle and do the pose to get their rank up? How do the chirper events work in town? Do the people need to actually be in you battle formation (fight with you) for their chirper events to pop up or do they just need to be in your party and that's it? Any info that you guys can give me about raising Lily ranks and bringing up chirper events to raise Lily ranks would be much appreciated. Thank you.

P.S. Can the Lily ranks go down? Like if someone dies repeatedly in combat will they get mad and their Lily rank go down?

Lily ranks cannot decrease. Some chirper events only appear after story events.

And the best way to raise your relationship is through chirper events, by far.

Chirper Events are the easiest but if you run out, you'll pretty much be forced to use them in battle... a lot of battles...

I have never bothered putting any effort in figuring out what causes a chirper to happen but from what I see, things that 'may' affect it are the shares, how far you are in the story, current lily rankings and the previous chirper you have completed, something like a prerequisite.

All I basically did end game was go to a town, spam click one of the main characters on the chirper til and event popped up. If nothing appeared after a few clicks. Move onto the next character. Rotated around town and back a few times. That's how I did mines. Ended up getting everyone to Rank 5 Lily other than Blanc, Rom (or was it Ram) and Vert.

Since I didn't focus on Lily rankings and chirpers til end game, some of mines were... really weird, like I got a event where Gear, IF and Compa were talking about how they needed to save Neptune. I had already saved her.

To be honest, I'm not too sure. Though I can say I never used Rom and I got her Lily to 5 no problem with all the chirper events I did with her.

New chirper events appear throughout progression of the game/story and when a new character joins your party.

Anyone know if Cave and Falcom's lily ranks ever increase? I've seen all of their chirper events and have been using Cave in battle alot but she still has the Green face for lily rank as does Falcom..

Obviously their lily rank doesn't matter for endings (luckily) but I'm just curious to know if they ever go up or do they just stay at that same spot?

The chirper events are probably the easiest way to increase Lily ranks. I'm on round four of my save file and everyone in my party is nearly topped off at Level 5.

I take it that you must have Nepgear fighting and then the three people fighting with her slowly go up in Lily ranks. I wonder how fast the Lily ranks go up by doing that and if having the person win and doing the pose makes the Lily rank go up a tiny bit faster for that person. I wonder if making the person the leader helps to raise the Lily rank a little bit faster as well.

Gear doesn't have to be fighting. And every character works differently. So, calculating it all would be a nightmare to say the least.

Mizu thinks that having them have the killing blow is what makes the difference. And I'd agree with that from the experiences I've had with Lily ranks.
